Part Two

This should be a lot shorter (memories are already getting vague)!

Drove south to the Hard Rock (it's about 90 minutes from my house) where I was meeting up with @ayaneva. The room that night was in her name and she wasn't arriving until four so I grabbed some lunch (first meal since breakfast at 7 the previous day and it was now about 2:30pm!) and then hung out in the coffee shop until she arrived (because they had a power socket for my laptop.) She is adorable! Loved her right off. Don't care how creepy that sounds. She was tired so while she napped I strolled around the hotel & took some pics. I found a couple of guitars I thought would interest Tommy and Monte and I tweeted pics of those to them. Went to grab some dinner but it was so dreadful I couldn't eat it and they didn't charge me for it. @ayaneva had woken up by then and joined me downstairs. We strolled around, found the venue where the concert was going to be, she showed me how to play the slots (I'll confess I still don't get it) and by then the smoke (yes, they allow smoking in this place) was getting to me so we retreated upstairs, ordered some room service breakfast for a late dinner (it was 11:30pm or so) and followed the twitter list from the baseball game. Went to sleep at 2:30 or so and woke up at 6. Damn. It was going to be a very long day!
Note on the hotel: Obviously far superior to the Day's Inn. Room was great, bed comfy, bathroom fantastic. However, that said, I would not stay there again unless Adam was playing there. They allow smoking and it stunk. Food was uniformly mediocre. Casino was small and had a bit of a low rent feel to it. It's nice enough but it's not a $300 plus per room hotel. I used to live in Ft. Lauderdale and know several hotels that are way better for less money.

I grabbed a shower and headed downstairs for breakfast. Then back upstairs to try and catch up on media before @ayaneva and I hit the pool for the morning. Things are getting a little vague here but @lightloveadam called me and said to join her and her friends for lunch so we did that. I'm sorry I cannot remember who was there. Oddly I'm a bit shy in situations like this so didn't put myself forward much. I know @cinthilu was there and maybe @tuke18? Also @lizannehill and @seevaldrum and several other people. I had an important appointment to photograph a couple of celebrities and @fiarra arrived during lunch to help me out with that. She and @ayaneva acted as my wingmen while I snuck a few shots in the casino. Casinos don't really like cameras much. Here's the final result:

The rest of the day was spent meeting up with @merrycello (who was staying with us) and @stolenglimpse (who was glamming it up with us) and getting ready for the show. I did @ayaneva's eyes for her and piled on the glitter myself and then we headed over for my second Glam Nation show.
At some point we split up with me and @stolenglimpse heading for the merch table. Line was nuts but we were pretty early so decided to stick it out. I got the white eye shirt and a photograph. Then we split again with @stolenglimpses heading to her seat in 202 and me to 101 where I met up with Maria again.

Ok, so here's the deal. I knew going in that I was going to have the best view at Melbourne and that, no matter how good the seats, Hollywood might be a problem. It's a flat floor, there were going to be people in front of me. I don't mind that as long as I can still see and I could. I had given myself a lecture to enjoy the show and not let other fans upset me. Well I was TESTED. Big time. First off the people behind us were screaming at us to sit down during Allie's set. Well I'm sorry but this is a rock concert, not a symphony and it was my last chance to see her. I was not sitting. They were actually screaming in unison “1-2-3-SIT”. I may have flipped them the bird. I did sit for a little during the quiet section but then stood up again.

During intermission a cute boy (and boy did he know it) danced in the aisles to Single Ladies. Security tried to stop him and were roundly boo'd. They left him to it. Oh I forgot, I went to get water during intermission as well and ran into @fairfax_verde and Mr. so we managed to find each other in that mob. It was meant to be clearly. So, back at my seat. We had two totally adorable girls in front of us. One of them it was her very first concert ever. I wish I'd seen her after the show so I could ask her how she liked it. Man were they screamers too but that's ok. I want to try and explain the seat situation before I talk about the concert. Oddly this venue let people move into the center aisle during the show. I've never been at a concert where they let you do that before. But what it meant was quite a few of the seats in front of us were empty, which should have led to better views and it did for a while. But then the couple from Hell arrived. I have no clue where they came from or if they even had tickets to the seats in front of us. I don't think they did because those were the seats the cute girls had been in before they moved over to the center. I'm not sure at what point they actually arrived but they were there for Aftermath and left during IIHY.

So, back to the show. Lights down, show starts and this is a whole different experience than Melbourne. For one this this audience was more than twice the size (5500 as opposed to 2100) and very very diverse. Young, old lots of men and boys, lots of ethnicity. Overall a much much younger crowd than Melbourne. We could tell pretty much right off that Adam was on fire. He was giving it everything. There was no saving of the voice on this night. It was the last indoor show of the tour and they were all bringing it. I had a blast but had to really keep focus. As I said not sure how or when couple from hell showed up but they did. She was tall enough to play basketball and he was short. Also an asshole, you could tell. I have no clue why they were there. It certainly wasn't to see Adam. They appeared to be trying to put on their own show and he was sadly disappointed not to be the center of attention. They made out and talked to each other the entire time they were there. They never even looked at Adam. At one point they were sitting and that was fine. Then they stood up and were swaying while they made out. Of course every time she swayed I had to move to try and see around her. I was still enjoying the show, just working around them. Then he made me the stupid bitch who talked during Aftermath. Wanted to kill him. At first looking back I thought it was Soaked but now I remember Adam was sitting on the stairs so it was Aftermath.

He looked back at me and said, “Are we bothering you?” Now, he was in a position to make my life a living hell so I just said, “No, not at all you guys are hot.” or something like that. I figured a little ego stroking might help. He then said, “You're sure we aren't bothering you?” [remember, Adam was speaking at this point] I again said no. Then he said, “Do you want a hug?” and I snapped and said, “No, I want to listen to HIM” pointing with both hands at Adam. So he turned back to his date. JFC.

Anyway, rest of the show went fine. They tried to get up closer (cannot imagine why as they weren't watching the show) but security made them come back so they pretty well blocked me for the first half of IIHY but then they left for good, Yeah! So we had a blast, singing, dancing. Got TCB for our encore. I don't really even know what to say that hasn't been said. Videos are fantastic but do not do him justice. Beyond the voice he just has so much charisma and stage presence it's incredible.

I had arranged to meet @stolenglimpse after the show and got split up from Maria in the process so didn't get to say goodbye to her :(
Did find @stolenglimpse and @fairfax_verde and also @ayaneva, @fiarra and @merrycello. We went for a drink and some food while we tried to decide what to do. @lightloveadam called me and told me they were at another bar and we went over there for a bit (sequence of events gets a little hazy at this point I'm afraid.) I walked @stolenglimpse out to her ride and went up to the room to change clothes. Oh, that's backwards, she was with me when I changed, because she had stuff in my room. I don't think I mentioned that the bands were staying on the floor right above ours but they were, @fiarra had already run into Immerman in the elevator where, hilariously, another passenger asked him if he was working the concert (he had his badge on.) Anyway, so down the elevator we go and the doors opened and there was Monte. I may have gaped. He clearly wanted to be left alone though so I just said “Hi Monte” and walked right by. Flailing inside though.

I really can't remember exactly what happened after that but I do know not long after that (it was now after 2AM) we went back to the bar where @lightloveadam was (I still hadn't had much chance to talk with her) and Monte was there! There were hardly any people there and he was talking to people and taking photos. @ayaneva had cut her hand during the intermission and he signed her bandage. I got up the nerve to talk to him (I am actually kind of shy sometimes, I missed talking to some people because of it during the weekend) and I told him I'd made the destroyer cover for him. OMG people. You all know how much I love him right? His eyes lit up, he said, “That was you!?” and he gave me a big hug and then said, “You have to do something else for me!” Of course I told him I'd do anything he wanted. We then had a discussion of what it was he wants me to do (me taking notes on my phone, lol) oh and I got a photo with him.

I have no idea if anyone overheard what he asked me to do but if anyone who was there did please keep it to yourself. I just want it to be private until it's done.

At that point I bailed and went to bed. @ayaneva and @merrycello came up around 4-4:30 I think. @ayaneva left for the airport early (sad!) and then @merrycello and I grabbed a bite with @fairfax_verde and her husband. We went upstairs to get our bags and just missed Adam who walked right by @fairfax_verde carrying his own bags to checkout (such a diva) and apparently Tommy since the person who took that video of them checking out saw Tommy right before she saw Adam.

And that was it. Checked out, got my car from the valet and drove home.

I had so much fun and everyone I met was so sweet. I can't wait to do it again!

I took very few pictures during the concert so most of these are from around the hotel.

What a strange shaped venue. It looks like there was little effort made to make the majority of the paying customers happy with good site lines.

So you did not tell Adam or Monte that you are the person behind the scrapbook?

Overall it sounds like you had a great trip.

Great recap - sorry people in front of you were a pain. I had a concert ruined by people like that years ago.

Yay for meeting Monte! He's so sweet. And double yay for project for him! :D

Awesome shots! The hotel room looks amazing, especially the bathroom. And I may have squee'd a little at Tommy and Adam being in the same vicinity when checking out. ;)

Yay for you finally getting to meet and speak with Monte! He's such a great guy. We got to hang out a bit in Vancouver, and he was teasing me becuase apparently I'm gullible. LOL Can't wait to see what you're working on for him.

Wow, great write-up!

I know exactly how it is when you pack in the activity...you certainly weren't going to sit down in the middle of all this and take notes...and your narrative conveys just how cramming all that into a couple of days feels. It sounds wonderful, frankly.

And your pictures. Omigod. Terrific. FanSee

I'm such a bitch that that couple in front of you would remember my name when I got done cursing them out. Straight up.

So glad you had a good time, and yay, Monte tiemz!!!!

I'm sorry about The Couple From Hell, but I'm glad you had a good time despite them, baby! It's so great that you did :D

And yay for meeting Monte! I can be very shy at times, too, so I can see your trouble; I'm so glad you got to talk to him, though, and that you now have a Secret Project - can't wait to see what it is!

Hi, you don't know me but I've liked your work since the Brian/Justin stories!

Anyway, I love Adam too, so, great recap and what lovely pictures!

As regards the Couple from Hell, this reminds me: Suz526 on youtube, who does all these great concert vids (I think she's been to almost every show or something) had a similar situation where she was trying to film next to a couple who were yak yak yakking all the time (maybe they were even the same people!). She wrote on the comments section that she tried to move to a different seat to get away from them, and they fricking followed her (probably not her, ok, but she turned around after changing seats and there they were)!

Still, I'm glad you didn't let it ruin your evening, lucky girl (I live in such a tiny part of Europe that there's no way Adam will ever come here, ;___;)!
