OK, maybe it's just me and if this bothers you well, skip over it.

A young woman died today. She was the mother of three small children. She was an active member of the Adam Lambert fandom. She didn't 'lose her life to domestic violence', let's not pretty it up. She was murdered. She was bludgeoned with a tire iron by her ex while her children and their babysitter were in the house. First he tried to set the house on fire and when they tried to flee he caught her and murdered her while the babysitter hid in another room with the kids and heard it all.

I am really fucking sick of men murdering the women in their lives.

It's also about time that men who murder their wives etc get a suitable punishment. Even in this more 'enlightened' time they still tend to get a lighter sentence. These women need to be protected.

I agree with the above that men should get much harsher sentences for this and they don't. I also wish that any woman who got hit once left and got a restraining order against them. Unfortunatly celebrities go back to their abuser all the time so we women have have horrible examples. And women keep marrying habitual abusers Charlie Sheen to name one. Again I am sorry about the person on your fandom but......

She had left him, this guy was her ex. None of the blame here was hers.

I agree in these cases political correctness is wrong however, until the crime is proved it is an alleged crime and we do not want the perpetrator freed on a dam technicality. I work with people who are in domestic violence situations and it so hard for them to walk away. Sadly, it often ends tragically.

True, though in this case there was a witness and the guy actually stayed there and waited for the police to come and arrest him. Still, 'alleged', you're correct.

I saw this around the [livejournal.com profile] ontd_ai community, as well as Adam's earlier tweet... I believe she was actually murdered on Christmas Eve... so horrible.

And last I read/saw, her ex is only (thus far) charged with aggravated assault. WTF?! He KILLED her. I really hope his charges are adjusted to what they ought to be sooner than later.

Yeah, the attack happened xmas eve but I think she died yesterday morning. Or maybe Christmas morning. He'll be re-charged. He's on the lower charge because he was arrested right away but she actually died later in the hospital.
