I got my laptop back! Well, technically I never lost it, it was just dead. Dell sent a tech to my office this afternoon and he installed a new motherboard for me and I seem to be good to go. I'm desperately trying to catch up. Last night was the final concert on the AI tour so that fandom is going ballistic. Especially since it was a pretty epic show.
Off to try and catch up. I usually have my laptop at work and at least skim my flist during the day. Even if I had had it today it would have been a lost cause. Got three sets of film in one after the other today that need to be cut ASAP. Got them loaded in and ready to start tomorrow. Thank God they are short but they are also vitally important so gotta be on my game this week.

I walked past that girl later in the day - she was just sitting there stunned. She's in the middle of a HUGE job for us - literally million of dollars of production going on in next 2 weeks - she has no computer. It will get fixed but it will take a week for it to dry out alone before they can start working on it. She's probably going to have to buy something in the meantime - I'm guessing $2k. Big Ouch!

The ending of the tour is so bittersweet for me. This is the most cohesive Top 10 I think AI has ever had - easily the one that has most captured my interest. And Kris and Adam are easily the most dynamic Top 2 in the show's history (in my opinion). So with regard to all of that, I'm really sad to see it end, because the likelihood of these people all ending up together again at some point in the future is highly unlikely. I hope some of the friendships hold up for potential future collaborations (Kradam, obviously; also throwing Allison into that mix as well -- Kradison, hehe). I also hope some of them have bright futures ahead of them (Matt G. and Anoop, in particular). And I'm crazy proud of one in particular for the incredible growth that I think he's shown this season (Michael)... To go from "Where I come from, you're either in the closet or dead" to caressing Kris' face/neck/hair with a rose, and wearing a feather boa on stage last night - I think he's probably had the most personal growth. I know AI changed him for the better.
Simply stated - I'll miss them all.
But on the sweet end, I CANNOT WAIT for Adam and Kris to start rolling out their solo stuff, and for the albums to drop. Rumor has it there's a 20-something second clip of Kris' first single as a teaser floating around and it's incredible (so people have said), and there's been nothing but raving about Adam's song from the 2012 sdtk, plus he'll have a single... and it's all very exciting to see how they'll grow on their own.
So yeah. Bittersweet.
