I was thinking Deliverance also, my redneck friends have that memorized. But Mad Max movies are big also. Around here, Rocky--all of them--are big too.
I was also thinking of movies by John Wayne. Also older but always good, Animal House. The Forty Year Old Virgin (or others by those guys). Ooohhh -- I just remembered another one; how about American Pie? I don't know why I think that tacky comedies or westerns would be low-brow and redneck, but it seems to fit. Think about macho war movies, too.
Depends on the generation of guy you're talking about. Deliverence is a cultural classic. John Wayne, especially any of the later westerns defined macho for a generation. I suppose Steven Segall or Chuck Norris films would work for a younger set.
