I was always a nail biter until a year ago or so, when my mom finally broke me of the habit (at 26 years old HA!), so I never really learned how to 'properly' care for my nails (filing them, doing all the other girly stuff you're supposed). I guess you could say I'm still getting used to the whole having nails thing, because I'm constantly poking my eyes or scratching myself. All I keep imagining is what I'd do to myself with those nails, and it is definitely NOT a pretty picture!
Quite medieval. It would make an amazing movie poster!
Fun idea to play with! We didn't have a lot of time today so we're going to do it again soon. I want to get that whole blade and his face into the shot. That thing was huge, not a sword but I'd say the blade was about 18" long. We are going to do some with actual swords too.
Very fabulous! I love B+W photos and I don't think this one would have the same impact if in colour.
Out of interest, how did you get it to post so large. I've been trying to post my holiday pics on my journal and they keep coming out tiny. I don't want this this large, but larger than they currently are- any idea?

Where are you uploading the photos? I host mine on my own server space so when I link to them they are whatever size the photo actually is.
Is that a winged dragon on the daggerhandle? It looks beautiful and also mysterious, because the shadow on the bottom of the picture hides the blade. Makes you wonder, what exactly those hands are holding.
The hands, the pointy nails! I'm envious, that your friends nails are strong enough to look good in that shape. Mine are rather soft and tend to bend over my fingertips if I let them grow too long (= over 2mm), so I keep them short. And i love the fact, that you picked hands with a bit of character for this picture in addition to the interesting weapon.

It is a winged dragon. The dagger was gorgeous. The blade is pointing up in this picture, you can see it going up behind the dragon's wings.
The hands were the main reason for this photo. He has amazing hands and I tried shooting them once before and wasn't happy with the results. He works and uses those hands and they get beat up and scratched and dirty and I wanted to convey that a little bit. This shoot went much better.
Ok, now I see it. Somehow I thought the blade was part of the wing. But I still like the black area on the bottom. Even if there is no hidden blade, something else might still be lurking.

Aren't they awesome? That's one of the main reasons I wanted to shoot his hands.
