I have not taken a shot I truly love for weeks. It's starting to make my skin crawl a little bit. I read a blog post by Joe McNally the other day in which he talked about a similar thing happening to him (though Joe's worst shot on his worst day is better than my lifetime best) and that for him taking photgraphs is like breathing through the lens and he felt as though he hadn't taken a deep breath in weeks. I Kind of feel that way. It's in large part my own fault though. I've been tired and busy and haven't taken time to really see. If you don't see you don't get photographs. You get snapshots. I've taken a lot of snapshots recently. Wanna see one?
I spun my desk chair around and fired this masterpiece off the other day. This poster is on the wall in my office.

*facepalm*
On the bright side I have a tentative shoot set up for Monday in which I am hoping to get awesomeness. There may be a sword involved. I'll get back to you on that one.
My friend is out of town on vacation and her boyfriend didn't go with her so he and I are going to go see Distrct9 finally tomorrow. It'll be good to get out of the house.
It's been all Kennedy all the time in my house. My hometown is Boston and my parents remember (and talked about) when the Kennedy boys would go door to door to ask for votes. I know some people will never get what Teddy meant to the people of Massachusetts, but we loved him.
Gee, what other random stuff can I spill out here. Fic is going well I think. I need to start punching it up a bit but I'm getting getting the writing muscles loosened up some. Still circling around that all fandom prompt thing.
Since I never participated in the AI/Adam Lambert fandom and still don't really I missed a lot of stuff when it happened and am still coming across things that are new to me. Such as when Kris and Adam hosted Seacrest's radio show which was all kind of hilarious. Especially when they played a call from what Kris described as "The onlly human being on the planet who isn't aware of Adam's Rolling Stone interview" in which a bouncy young lady asked Adam out on a date and assured him that she thought she was his type. His response was sweet and kind but his "I don't think you're quite my type." was priceless. As was this exchange:
Kris- "..and that was I Know You Want Me, That song takes on a whole new mean in being in the room with you, Adam"
Adam- "That's what your wife said."
I'm sure you had to be there but nevertheless I got a few laughs out of it.
Speaking of that fandom, where should I be hanging out? I've been spending time on
ontd_ai but while it's fun it can also be a little scary over there.
Guess that's it for now. With any luck I'll have some good photographs and some fic for you next week.
Oh hey, don't forget
fandombookgroup! We start our September book on Tuesday.

I'm halfway through the Graveyard Book and I'll be curious to see what others are thinking. Better do some reading this afternoon...

I like mjsbigblog and I get some laughs out of gossip candy. I find ontd_ai a little over the top but do check it out every now and then.
I watched the funeral online this morning and listened to the memorial last night and I found them both very touching and a bit inspiring. Clearly in spite of his faults (and we all have them) Edward Kennedy was a great man who loved people and tried to do his best for them.
