I know several of you have Kindles, I was wondering what cover you use? I got an m-edge cover that I really love but I keep hearing about people who have had the Kindle case crack when using covers with a hinge system, so now I'm looking for one with no hinge. I ordered the m-edge platform but the Patagonia cover looks really nice. That one a lot of reviewers said the zipper was really bad on it though.

So what cover do you use please?

I have the one with the hinges. I can see where if you let the Kindle flop forward from the backcover it would create stress, but I just avoid letting it do that.

I'm contemplating making a custom cover, however, possibly something that will just go over the top of the current cover. The black leather disappears into my dark blue bedsheets, and since I read in bed with it (yay!) I'm afraid that someday I'll not notice it and sit on it or something. So I'm thinking of making a painted-silk cover, though I haven't figured out a theme. Possibly red poppies on a green background. Or spider chrysanthemums in gold and yellow. Or a Chinese dragon?

Good idea, maybe I'll do an embroidered one.

If you do the embroidered one or I do the silk, we can put velcro on the outside of the back edge to hold the Kindle to the cover--sticky-backed velcro on the Kindle back, sew-on velcro on the cover. That way it doesn't stress the hinge, which essentially becomes backup for the velcro in case it comes unstuck.

I crocheted a little bag for mine. It's a soft ribbon yarn that's cushy so it protects it pretty well. I've yet to get an "official" cover for it.

I got the m-edge GO! cover in purple. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0025PNZHS/ref=ox_ya_oh_product

I like it. It's got a soft suede-like fabric inside, and the corner elastics to hold the Kindle. Yes it's got the hinge system. I was looking at the Patagonia, but some of the reviews I read said the zippers were very stiff.

That's the cover I have and I like it a lot. I got the black even though I really wanted the red because I wanted it to be a bit inconspicuous. Got the black again on the platform for the same reason. All those comments about the zippers on the Patagonia really gave me pause, that's why I went with the m-edge again.

I also asked my brother, who's had a Kindle for years. He's got the basic Kindle cover and has had no problems with the hinge, so I went with the GO!. The purple is really pretty! I'm basically using it at home, so I'm not as concerned about being inconspicuous LOL!

I'm LOVING the Kindle! I converted a whole bunch of fanfic (my faves), and now they are available to read whenever I want!

I can't wait for my next plane ride to see how much easier it is to carry one Kindle instead of a couple of books!

Isn't it awesome? I adore that I can get a new book in seconds without even leaving my chair and fanfic is a dream on it. I love that I can read epic length fics away from my computer.

I'm sorry! I do love it and recommend saving your pennies for it.

I just have the standard black hinge cover Amazon offered when I bought it and it's fine. I suppose if you toss it around... but then you'd probably have bigger problems then a broken hinge!
