I'm trying out Zenfolio as a host to display and sell my images. You can (apparently) purchase prints as well as stuff like mugs, key chains, mouse pads etc. with my photos on them I haven't had a chance to upload too many photos yet but I have a two week trial there. If I keep it it's $100 a year. I have serious doubts I can sell $100 a year worth of photos to tell the truth. If you get a chance please have a look and if you think the prices are out of line let me know. I don't know if I'll change but I'd like to know. I was trying to get a certain price point for a certain size but it made some others too cheap and others too expensive. I think I hit a happy medium. When I tested the cart is showed me the wall mounts, which are really pricey, you can click on 'back to all products' and it takes you back to choose regular prints.

My photos can be purchased here

I am really terrible at self promotion. Just posting this makes me feel weird.

Quinn,
Did you mean to add a link? If the word here is the gateway it doesn't work.

Quinn, I looked at some of the products for a few photos, and those prices DO seem high. I looked at the prices for mugs, keychains, t-shirts and small and medium-to-large prints and I have to say, I wouldn't be able to afford them, even though I'd LOVE to help you get started making money from your photos. You are so good! If you can make sales, you probably will earn more than $100 a year simply because the prices are so high. But again, that depends on people purchasing at those prices.

Of course, I'm currently unemployed so I freely admit that my financial viewpoint might be somewhat skewed, lol! I hope you get more responses, maybe from people who are working right now since their view may be different. Either way, if you keep this site or decide on another one, PLEASE keep us posted! I love it when people can start new endeavors based on doing what they love to do. :-D

Thanks. I was afraid of that. I went in and looked and I was able to drop the price on the prints a little but the profit on the other items was already $1.00 or less so I couldn't drop them any more. That's why I doubt I'll be able to even cover the yearly cost of the service.
