Last week I posted a photo of a Sandhill Crane on her nest. Here's daddy spelling her for a bit.

It's hard to see in this small res version but there are two eggs in the nest.

I really lucked out with this shot. These three pelicans came soaring in behind me while I was at the beach (went there for the sunrise to try and get some plovers before heading to the Savannas) I was panning to get them flying and they passed the sun exactly as it came up over the ocean.

I really love that last picture. I've made it my new desktop!

We have a family of 3 here, mom, dad and young'un.
Would you believe that when I was in Wyoming a few years back, they were issuing hunting licenses for Sandhills. Some people will shoot anything.

That's sickening. We normally end up with families of three here too. Second chick typically doesn't make it.

Those photos are both great. I love the reflection of the pelican on the water in the first two a lot.

Thanks, I enjoy shooting water birds for that reason.

Luck, but the skill to make it beautiful.

Thank you so much for asking. I'm finally healthy again and have my energy back. It took quite a number of weeks but the fever hasn't return and it's been almost 2 weeks. YAY!

Thank you! We're awaiting the start of the storm. I hate big storms in March.
