Yeah! I can cook Thanksgiving dinner now.

They did a great job getting them in. The carpenter spent three hours here between getting the opening prepared and then trimming it out. It took three guys to get these into the house and lift them into place.

Oh wow, they're gorgeous. I was kind of worried for you there for a bit when I saw them sitting in the middle of the kitchen like that. I've seen that sort of thing before and it's gone on for years. No joke.

I was a little concerned myself but these guys were great. The appliance guy called first thing in the morning and asked if the carpenter had called. I said he hadn't and he said "I'll get right on it!", an hour later they were both here with an assistant to help with the lifting.

Very nice. I've always been interested in the double oven idea, but they don't seem practical if we only used them on holidays. Do you use them a lot?

I do use the double ovens a lot. If you bake at all you can get it done twice as fast. With these ovens I can cook 6 sheets of cookies at one time. They're convection ovens, I wouldn't do six with standard ovens. My other ovens would do four at one time though. It's a huge timesaver. Of course when you are cooking a big dinner having two ovens is great. Or even if you're just cooking two things with radically different oven temperatures.

So glad they were able to get them installed!

Me too! I really didn't need to spend the money but I have to have ovens. And since I had to spend it I'll admit I am thrilled with these. They are much bigger than my last ovens and have a lot of nifty features.

Pretty!

As a cook, I'd love to have ovens like that!

Enjoy!

I'd rather not have had to get new ovens but I know I'll enjoy them.

Congratulations. I know what a pain it is to replace these type of units.

I still can't believe the old ones died on Friday, we bought the new ones Saturday morning and by Monday afternoon I was cooking in them.

That's great that they're in and that you've done a test run already. By Thursday you'll be all set!

By going stainless you now have to replace the fridge, the dishwasher, and the microwave

posted by [identity profile] quinn222.livejournal.com at 06:01am on 25/11/2008
Believe it or not the dishwasher died 6 months ago and the microwave last week. We went with white for the dishwasher. The microwave is an exact match to the ovens. If the fridge dies (God forbid) we'll stay with white with cabinet fronts. It'd be just too much stainless.
Though at this point I'd probably have to go with a cooler full of ice!
