This only took the better part of a day.

I'm well aware there is nothing overly spectacular about this image. It falls well within the 'average' category. However it is my very first 3D model. I have reason to believe I am going to have to be more familiar with 3D modeling and lighting at work so I decided to try a few tutorials. This is the first. You would not believe all the stupid things I managed to do in the course of this thing.

Twice I combined the nose with the body so I couldn't make it orange.
Once I lost the sphere I made for the head and only later discovered it inside the body. I made a pregnant snowman.
I lost count of how many times I tried the skin on the trees. They kept coming out with the snow on the back. One side green and one white.
Finally I rendered this thing at least twenty times and could not get any shadows and the light was super bright. I finally found I had somehow added a second light and it was hidden in a tree. It was washing out my shadows. I am beyond relieved to have this done and reasonably attractive.

It's 'dorable.

Isn't it fun learning new skillz? Don't worry, your hair will grow out again and you'll love it when you can do this stuff almost easily. FanSee

Very cute! And LOL at putting parts of the snowman inside other parts. That's the best way to learn, though... make mistakes!
