Here's an interesting Kos diary (http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/9/1/113810/3053/686/582073) entitled Palin-tology: 100 real issues in 1 weekend - ideology over experience, with sources for most of the info.

She's a shocking pick. Regardless what the McCain campaign says about her being thoroughly vetted, there's just no way it's true, imo.

And I just read there's going to be a big story in the NYT (http://www.americablog.com/2008/09/ny-times-on-sarah-palin-vetting.html) regarding the lack of vetting and how McCain just caved in to the religious right. Again.

Representative Gail Phillips, a Republican and former speaker of the State House, said the widespread surprise in Alaska when Ms. Palin was named to the ticket made her wonder how intensively the McCain campaign had vetted her.

“I started calling around and asking, and I have not been able to find one person that was called,” Ms. Phillips said. “I called 30 to 40 people, political leaders, business leaders, community leaders. Not one of them had heard. Alaska is a very small community, we know people all over, but I haven’t found anybody who was asked anything.”
