This is not really a rhetorical question. You know the song Affirmation by Savage Garden? My screen saver is made up of the lyrics to that song.
This has been sized down from the size I actually use of course.
When people are at my desk it often starts a conversation or invites a comment about a particular slide. So if I were to add a slide to it with something you believe in, what would it say? Come on people, there are almost 500 of you so tell me what you believe in.

I believe in always striving to better yourself - to learn, to develop, to advance.
I have more, but I'm late for work... (I also believe in not being late. At all. That's a tough one)

I believe that most people really are good.
I believe that family is the most important gift we are given, so we shouldn't take them for granted.
I also believe that a glass of wine with a good friend can help in most any situation. ;-)

I believe, that how you behave and treat other will eventually come back to you. Not times three, like is sometimes said about black magic, but a person who does a lot of good stuff, will experience pleasant things as well.
I believe, that a general sense of respect for other beings is more important, than any specific set of rules our society or religion demands from us.
I believe, that a family of friends can be stronger and more supportive than bloodrelation, but we should never forget, were we come from either.
I believe, that love is love, as long as the involved parties are sane and old enough to decide, society and government have no say in it.
I believe that there is no such thing as "normal", people who are so scared of being different, they have to reassure themselves, that they are still in the majority.

I believe that what's better than one hot guy? Two. And what's better than that? Three. Any more and it just gets weird.

The only person I can change is myself.
I can't always control what happens, but I can always control my reaction to it.
I am responsible for my own happiness.
I believe a successful relationship has each person being 100% responsible for the relationship.
I believe if I change my thoughts, I can change my life.
I believe there is a useful message or lesson in everything that happens to me.
I believe in an attitude of gratitude.
I believe in counting my blessings.

Amen to that.
from something I wrote a while ago...
I believe it's okay to be single, I'd rather love inwardly than resent the one I'm with. Or be with someone else who is only marginally into me.
I believe we have many soulmates, it's just a matter of finding one at the right moment in time for both of us. The first one wins my heart completely.
I believe in marriage, not divorce. I'd rather fight and push and yearn and come together. Cherishing the good when everything seems so bad.
I believe I will grow old with this smile still on my face. Content with all I have lived and loved. My life. Complete.
Re: from something I wrote a while ago...
I have a friend who so needs to learn this lesson.

I believe that one should not surround themselves with negativitiy.
I believe that I can always learn to be a better person.
On another note - I used to be a massive fan of Savage Garden. I have met the lead singer on several occassions and he's an absolute sweetheart. He would love that his lyrics are inspiring conversation.
