Torchwood Fic
I've ventured into reading some Torchwood Fic over the last few weeks (and there is some excellent stuff out there) and have figured out what I like and come up with some bunnies which it would make me very happy for someone to write. Not that I actually expect anyone to write to my request of course! I just want to get these ideas out there. I'm not feeling up to venturing back into prose fiction myself just yet (though I'll admit I have written one thing that matches a bit one of these bunnies.) Please feel free to take these as requests, suggestions or whatever. If fics that match exist feel free to point me towards them. If you've got a favourite fic type I haven't mentioned here I'm open to reading your favourites, maybe I'll add to my list. Be aware that (as this list no doubt reveals) I am a Ianto fan through and through.
Ignored Ianto:
He really was in the background at the beginning and clearly felt it. GDL said Ianto was partly to blame as he held himself back from the others because of Lisa. But the end of Countrycide really really bugged me. Everyone being taken care of and watched etc. and Ianto all by himself, when he was arguably the worst injured of the team and the one most terrorised. (see below)
Bunny:
1- Lonely Ianto and how they might have tried to rectify that after Cyberwoman. Had to be a really awkward sort of thing. Jack's captain's blog showed that Jack felt a lot of blame for not looking after Ianto better and he made several posts after that referring to Ianto's healing and current emotional state and he mentioned having a talk with the rest of the team about Ianto.
2- So that would be bunny 2, what was that meeting like?
Taking care of Ianto:
This one relates to #1. Not emo, hysterical Ianto but just someone actually noticing him and caring for him. Post cyberwoman he was emotionally wrecked and covered in blood. Who took care of him? Did anyone? Post Countrycide, did anyone bother taking care of him? I thought I read a fic once but could never find it again so maybe it was in my imagination, where he's literally forgotten. Everyone is caring for Gwen and Tosh and no one even remembers Ianto. I wish someone would write that.
Bunnies:
Countrycide
1- Everyone forgets to take care of Ianto (and maybe at the end they finally figure it out and do take care of him)
Cyberwoman:
2- What happens in the immediate aftermath? How does Ianto go from keening on the floor covered in blood to wherever he ended up later?
3- As an aside to this and secondary bunny, Gareth David-Lloyd thinks (or thought after Series 1) that Ianto lived in the Hub and didn't have a place outside it. That he had a room or something that we never saw. If that was the case (and I agree with him) where did Ianto go for his four week suspension?
Taking Care of Jack:
In a lot of ways Jack suffers the same fate as Ianto. Not because he's overlooked but because it's just assumed he doesn't need to be taken care of.
Bunny-
1- Jack is injured but not mortally and thus needs to be treated by Owen
Ianto/Jack caught:
Either by one of the team who had no idea they are lovers or even after it's well known they are lovers.
Bunny -
1- A three parter in which they are caught by each of the others
2- Gwen has no clue they are lovers and walks in on them
3- one of the others accidentally catches them on the CCTV. They rest come over to see it. Commentary on technique ensues. This could be especially hilarious if Captain John had dropped in for a visit.
Dr. Owen Harper:
I love fics where Owen is taking care of one of the team (particularly Jack, Ianto or himself) in his capacity as team physician. Especially since the Hub itself offers virtually no privacy so any time one of them is treated the rest of them stand around and watch. Owen's near total lack of bedside manner is wonderful, especially when he lets that facade drop and he's seen as caring.
Bunny- On a mission one of the team (or more than one) is badly injured and Owen has to switch into Doctor mode.
Team Fics:
Love it when the whole team is involved
Himalaya Fics:
Oh come on, it's a goldmine of fic ideas! The four of them of trooping around in the Himalayas can be everything from funny to angst to action packed.
Time Lord Ianto
OK, I'll admit it. But maybe not actually Time Lord Ianto. I just like the idea of Ianto somehow ending up Immortal. Not so much in an "OMG now we can love each other to eternity!" way but more in a "Wow, neither of us can stay dead, this is going to be fun!" way. Really. If some of the eternal loneliness was removed some of Jack's light heartedness (the way
he was before he died the first time) would return I think and they could do some goofball stuff.
Highly Competant Ianto

Not in any sort of romantic way of course but fics where these two get drunk/angry/lonely/aliens made them do it are great.

Having previously been a writer of angst (LFN under the name of Scorch), I have found quite a wealth of it for Torchwood - mainly on Teaspoon and also at http://community.livejournal.com/jackxianto/

I tend to focus on stories revolving around a hurt Ianto and worried Jack for some reason.... :-)
