I've been mulling this over for a few months now and my trip to WDW just confirmed it for me. I ought to have stopped writing QaF at the end of Changes. There just isn't anywhere interesting for me to go at this point. I brought the boys to a natural stopping point and everything since then has been forced or crap or both. I'm just not inspired to write them any more. They're a happy couple in a long term relationship. That's it. Not anything to write about. I know in my head where I wanted to take them for the next year or so but it's not interesting. So I guess I'm done and I'm sorry for the unfinished stuff. Maybe one day I'll want to go back to it. The reason I say that WDW confirmed it for me is that before, any time I went anywhere, I'd picture the boys there and what sorts of situations I could put them in and what photos I'd need to take. Not this time though. I just didn't see them there.

Bizarrely, I did see the Torchwood 3 gang there though and had this very weird and funny image of them chasing some sort of alien around WDW. But of course, who'd believe them? And how would they tell it from the characters? Would they have to venture into Small World? Apparently Jack is afraid of roller coasters, that'd add a bit of humour.Someone needs to write that. I have so many TW bunnies but I don't want to write any of them.

Wow, that must be really hard for you. You've been writing QAF for as long as I've known you, probably longer. :(

Can I support you by simply saying that it's likely that you've just moved on, as so many others have? I think it's perfectly normal to finish things when canon ends and you've tied up your personal desires for them, told the rest of their story. To fight that and try to write forever and -ever will only make you miserable. What more is there to say about Brian and Justin, anyway? They're happily living ever after, and that's not a bad thing. :)

I for one would love to see Jack, Ianto, Tosh, Owen and Gwen chasing after an alien at a theme park. And Jack's scared of roller coasters but can fly to the end of the universe on the outside of a TARDIS with very few problems (OK, so he might've died. Oh well)? LOL I'd read that.

Exactly, that's just where I'm at now.

I'm sorry I pretty much never commented on your graphic stories, even though I friended your journal because of the ages ago.

It's always sad to see a story you like not get finished, but thank you for saying it clearly, instead of just dodging questions forever. I've seen that with different writers in different fandoms and it occasionally makes you want to yell "just fess up, you're done here" at your screen. Or dragging on forever, when there is clearly nothing more to tell. A clear break is much less frustrating for the writer and the readers. :o)

If your muses take you Torchwood 3's adventures at WDW, go for it. Sounds like fun! or let it simmer for a while. I just posted my first fanfic days ago, even though I'd had ideas for stories since about three fandoms back. But I'm glad I didn't just post something half-finished, got people all worked up and then never brought anything to an end. Now it's not an elaborate series, that looses it's drive along the way, but something short and (hopefully) funny. apparently I'm much better at that.

Write about QAF, write about TW3, show off your photographs and picture editing. I'd be happy to see any of those, as long as you have fun. And thank you for the wonderful stories you have given us in the last couple of years.

That would not have been fair to anyone. It had just really become apparent that writing B?J had become a chore and that's never going to produce good work.

It has been a wonderful ride.

You should do what makes your heart sing. And, while I don't watch Torchwood, I'd follow a graphic story by you.

You have left us with amazing, loving memories of "the guys" and I for one appreciate it.

Thank you!!

Thank you for sharing the boys adventures with us for so long.

Now, fly where your muses take you! And if that's with Torchwood, then have fun!

Well, I can't say that I won't miss them, but I can completely understand moving on. I've almost completely moved on in my fanfic reading.

I would definitely go along for the ride if you happened to take the TW3 gang to WDW (or anywhere else).

Thanks for sharing your QaF writing with us for so long! I enjoy your stories so much, and I'm sure I'll reread them. While I'll definitely miss your QaF work, I say go wherever your creativity takes you!

I'll miss those wonderful posts and I'll still hope you decide to revisit every once in a while.

*Hugs* and I hope you'll continue to visit fandom stuff as it's posted from time to time.

"Adventures" brought me to your f-list, so I must admit I do feel a bit of sadness when reading this entry.

Would it be completely out of line, however, to admit I feel happiness that you are becoming a fan of Torchwood?

I can see why it might feel odd to feel a disinterest in a prior fandom. I was a tremendous fan of the HP books and films but now I'm not as interested in them as I was when the new books were coming out. I will still keep watching the films religiously but it doesn't hold as much passion for me as it once did.

I understand. I think I'm even letting them go. Although, I still love a good post 513 fic that's in the future when Gus is grown.

I will always love them, but they are not the OBSESSION they were for so many years.

Our hearts are mending.

As you know I'm into TW now, too. But, I'm haven't read a single fan fic. It doesn't feel the same. Something is missing.

I've read some and there are some outstanding ones out there. Are you still on Series 1? I think once you get more into series 2 you may feel differently. I'm totally a Ianto girl and he really comes into his own in series 2.

Well, thank you for all the wonderful stories and your creative talents. I can understand how this muse has moved on-- and I appreciate all the twists and turns you found for Brian and Justin even after the show ended. I love that you say they are in a long-term relationship-- they ended up where all true wanted them-- and that thought made me happy.

Quinn, thanks so much for taking us on the wonderful journey that is your verse. I've loved all your stories and reread them often. I hope you'll revisit every now and then. Well done, Brava!! I hope we get to see whatever your muse comes up with next :)

It sounds like a wise decision. A hard one to make, I'm sure, but things do have a natural stopping point and if you're no longer inspired...

That TW bunny actually sounds hilarious. I hope someone writes it. I want to marathon the whole series again before I attempt to write any TW fic (if I even do) and make sure I have the voices right.

All I have seen of late from you is Torchwood stuff which I happily passed right by. Gonna miss your Brian and Justin stories but now I may go reread everything you did write on them......

me too! sigh

and thank you so much for all the wonderful stories you brought us

I'm sorry you've lost the Muse for our boys. But I do want to thank you for the incredible story you have given them. Whatever pairing you choose to incorporate around your wonderful graphics, I hope you continue to share.

Sounds like it's time. I loved your fics. They are one of the few I re-read. I've been kinda lingering around just in case you were going to write any more QaF. I love TW and if you write it, I'm in for the ride. I think a lot of people are moving on. We've made peace with the ending and for many B/J fans they are together in our minds.
Anyway, Thanks for sharing your talents with us.

It's a natural progression, a story ends when it wants too, you can't push it.

Torchwood, there are so SO many things to write about..including Jack's fears that surprisingly Ianto finds amusing, and teases him slightly about. *smile*

i'm sorry that you will not be continuing with qaf even though i understand. you created something very, very special and i've read every entry...many more than once...and enjoyed it immensely. the end of the series was difficult for me and you kept everyone alive with your creative adventures. thank you again for sharing your gift.

Thanks so much for the wonderful adventure that you have taken us on. I enjoyed your stories and your wonderful pictures and graphics so much.

I understand completely how you feel. Though I rarely read any fanfic anymore,I am still faithful to the authors that I started reading oh so long ago and you are one of them.

Well, I have loved your work and have read all of it -- it has been a wonderful adventure! Thank you for sharing your vision of B/J with all of us, although I must say I am sad to read that you won't be writing about our wonderful guys any more (sniff).

I am a huge Torchwood fan as well -- and I would love to read/see anything you would care to write about the gang -- and I agree that chasing aliens around an amusement park with Jack (and Captain John???) could be lots of fun!

As others have said, follow your heart. It is really the only thing that matters...

I hope you see and answer this one question. It' sthe only one I have, really.

I hadn't checked my flist here in awhile, I tend to stay at IJ, and I'm totally caught up with the Democratic Primaries, so I guess you gould say that I have a new fandom. Thanks for all the great visuals, I will always love them.

K, question: Can ou PLEASE tell mem what the big deal was that Brain and ted were into? That's the only thing I really wanted to know. And I hate not knowing! Please have mercy!!
