I took a ton of photos on my two day trip to Tampa. On the way across the state I got some shots of the Orange Juice business:

The middle of the state along SR60 has three main agricultural products, Beef, Strawberries and Citrus (primarily oranges.)

As you can see it is the height of the harvest season and there is a lot of fruit waiting to be processed.

That is an amazing amount of oranges! I knew in theory there would be a lot. It's another thing to see pictures of it.

I've never seen an orange tree before. I didn't realize they were so bush-y as compared to a peach or apple tree. Very interesting instructional pics here. ;) Thanks!

We take the train all the way to southern Florida every year and I love passing all the orange groves. They're beautiful.

My husband and I once got lost in citrus country. We were trying to get back to Orlando and drove and drove and drove - in the wrong direction - through miles of orchards. It was a very educational drive. Neither of us had had the slightest idea of how much land is devoted to citrus ranching. Even with that background, however, the sight of all those trucks filled with all those oranges is still over-whelming. FanSee

And while reading this post I grabbed myself an orange. It was just THAT realistic. :)

I liked the progression, from filed to factory sort of. Oddly, growing up in CA I've seen the fields and the trucks but never the processing plants...strange.
