Reaction only behind the cut but I would consider it spoilerish. More details to follow.

It was wonderful. Yes parts were sad, but it's a book about war and that's to be expected. However it was gripping and emotional and thrilling and no one was left out, no loose ends left hanging. I'm pleased with the ending and, of course, a bit sad.

OK so I am one of those crazy people who likes to know endings, before reading the whole book. So email me off list or put giant spoiler alert up and please tell me, who does not survive this saga? Thanks

My sister in law's copy arrived here today from Barnes & Noble. I have permission to read it before I Fedex it on down to Dominica along with the Naomi Novik Temeraire books I bought a couple weeks ago.

I guess I know what I'll be doing this weekend..LOL..as we're having massive thunderstorms off and on all day and I can't go work in the garden. My poor roses are drowning and two out of the four lavender bushes I planted aren't doing too well.

Total agreement on my side, yes.

I hope my comment earlier did not damage your enjoyment of the book.
