I have moved very slightly out of the ranks of the peons. I am now a salaried employee for the first time in my life. Which actually sort of sucks. No overtime and no commissions. On the other hand I'm making more money than I ever have too and I'm off the phone except in the case of escalated calls. In which case I'll call them, not the other way around. I'll be teaching, which I love and re-writing all our training and procedures documents.

What this means for you guys is possibly more fic, since I'm at my most alert and creative in the morning and I'll be going to work later. There may also be more whining but that remains to be seen.

So, um...go me.

I picked it up Tuesday night after work and read it cover to cover before I went to bed that night! It was really good, as always.

I liked it too, but I'm getting so so so tired of the Morelli/Ranger business. It's been 13 books. Joe loves her, she loves him, he wants to commit. I really don't think I'll be wasting money on the books in the future until she finally marries poor Joe.

I love Ranger too, he's a great character and he makes the books more interesting. But goddamn Steph needs to grow up and realize that Ranger is not the one for her romantically.

The odd thing is they piss me off too, but this one doesn't. I don't know why. Maybe because everyone involved behaves like a decent person. I don't feel as though Stephanie is cheating on Joe or that Ranger is trying to steal her from Joe. The only time she actually had sex with Ranger she was broken up with Joe. I also love that Tank (OMG his name! Don't want to spoil so I wont say it) and Lula are together.

But Steph keeps kissing Ranger on the sly! Tsk tsk. But I did like how in this book Ranger was basically like, "I would totally eat you up given a chance, but you and Joe are a couple so I'm going to back off."

Anyway, I just don't see how much longer it can go on like this.

Ture. The last book made me think that Joe is going to end up working for Vinny or Ranger at some point. All through the last one everyone kept talking about how sucky joe's job is. Even Joe and Ranger. The thing I keep reminding myself of is that even though there are so many books it's only a few years in Stephanie's life.

Congrats on the new position!!

I totally understand about the salary thing. I was salaried with my company for 5 years before I went back to wage, at which time they simply divided the amount, so I didn't lose anything. In fact, I was finally paid for those extra days in the pay period, along with overtime, which, as an apartment manager, there can be a lot.

Still, the new title and extra money can't be a bad thing, and hopefully in the long run will work out for the best.

Again, congrats!!!
