Warning, an injury occurs later in this narrative that may result in more typos than usual.

I woke up at 3:15am (why yes, this is going to be minute by minute, thank you very much) and was so exhausted by 8am that I went back to bed for two hours. I did get some laundry started (but none done) and not much else. My dad got a check in the mail and I offered to drive him to the bank, because, OMG my dad behind the wheel is something to be avoided. He asked me to bring a book so he could go get his hair cut and I could wait. No problem. We go to the bank. No check. He left it at home. Back we go and get the check, back to the bank and then to the barber. Then he wanted to get his nails done and said he'd pay for me to get mine done too. So we go to his nail place. My dad has a nail place. I don't have a nail place. Even my mother doesn't have a nail place. Anyway, his nail place is closed. So we went to another one. They did a great job. And it took two and half hours!! I went to a spa with my dad and we both had manicures and pedicures and they waxed my eyebrows. It was very surreal. He liked it there though and intends to go back there. And I have pretty pink toenails now. Fingernails I keep quite short because I work with my hands so much but they're neat and have clear polish on.

Back to the house for dinner and then off to lowes. I needed some stuff for a project. Among the things I needed was a sheet of rigid foam insulation. It comes in 4x8 sheets. I drive a honda accord. I bought a box cutter to cut the sheet up to fit in the car. While doing so I managed to cut a couple of slices into the tip of my left (I am left handed kind of) middle finger. Bled a ton. So now I have nine visible manicured nails and one wrappped up in a bandage. Pretty! Typing is not fun.

Also tonight I set my alarm clock for the first time in a week and a half. Oh well, since I'm waking up between 3 and 4am I guess it doesn't really matter.

Ouch! Your poor finger! I did that once on a can. I wanted to rinse it out before putting in the recycling. Ended up slicing my thumb pretty badly. Should have had stitches. Didn't. But I did get a tetanus shot. Make sure you're up to date on yours!

Feel better!!!!!!!!!

Your dad has a nail place - that's hilarious.

Ah, the secret life of Dads.

I'm certainly glad your finger was not hurt more than it is! Cringe-worthy reading for sure.

My Dad has a nail place, too. It actually amuses me.

I hope your finger starts to feel better very soon! *Hugs*

Ouch! That had to hurt. Lots of nerve endings in your fingers.

I'm still laughing at the fact that your Dad has a nail place.

i've never commented on real life but can't resist...your dad has a nail place and when it was closed he found a new one and treated you to a manicure and pedicure...he's fantastic! (and far too few men care about their nails!) so sorry about your accident with the box cutter, i hope it will heal quickly.
