Thanksgiving dinner is just insane.

We had three turkeys (two roasted, one smoked), biscuits, stuffing, gravy, potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash, brussels sprouts, creamed onions, Not The Usual Green Bean Casserole (ours is made with homemade wild mushroom cream, fresh beans and crispy shallots) and cranberry sauce. And probably other stuff that I've forgotten.

Next year we have got to cut back. I ate less than half of what was on my plate.

You should have packed the other half up and sent it my way :P

YUMMO! Hey, do your family look at you weird when you sit there and take photos of things like your dinner plate before eating from it?

No one even blinks an eye. My friends and family all know I always have my camera and I take pictures of everything. Also my family know I am working on a cookbook so I take pictures of the cooking process as well as the finished product!

I agree with ozbrat! Where's my plate?!? I'm having dinner at work. It will look and taste nothing like that, I'm sure. It's hospital food. LOL. At least it's free :-)

It looks like you had a wonderful meal. *hugs* and Happy Thanksgiving!

But just think, you won't have to do the dishes!

YUMMM!!! If you want to post your Not The Usual Green Bean Casserole recipe, I'd love to read it. :) I loved your brussels sprouts recipe from last year!

I made it last year too, it's a Thomas Keller recipe that was in New York Magazine last November. Check my memories under recipes. I posted a scan of it.

Wow that looks yummy!!! it looks just like the dinner we'll be eating here "Down Under" on Xmas Day, the traditional English Xmas dinner, although we do eat a lot of sea-food, because it's usually so HOT!!! but I do enjoy the turkey & all the trimmings, not quite Xmas without it. Hope you had a great day,,,

We always used to have lobster for Thanksgiving and for Christmas Eve but it's just gotten too expensive to do that any more. It's usually prety hot here too. Christmas day we have a barbeque :-)

And your plate looks delicious, it has many things, and I happen to like most of them.

Yum! That looks phenomenal! My family went low key again - yet there's still soooo much clean up to do. I hope your holiday was wonderful. :)

(The dogs had their own mini turkey dinner and both are passed-out right now.)

Dandy got his first. He knows if dinner involves chicken or turkey he'll be getting some and plants himself under foot until it's served to him.

That's sweet. I always include my babies in holiday meals. Even if it's a much smaller portion than they would like, they're always so appreciative. And they eat so fast!

I'm jealous. This year my mother suckered me with dinner plans and then said: "The ham is in the oven. You're going to microwave your own sweet potato, right?" Next year, I'm making reservations.

Wow, your plate of food is so beautifully arranged! Did you do that just for us? :)

I ate way too many potatoes on Thursday, and I was so full I was in pain. I had to wait until later that night to eat my pie! But pumpkin pie... *yum*.
