In the meantime here's a small trip report from last weeked.

Five people, 1 car. As the driver I really didn't have anything to worry about but I can tell you that the Toyota Avalon handled three adult sized people in the back seat with no trouble. Even though two of them were only thirteen. It would have been nice if my GPS could figure out where I was so it could tell me how to get where I wanted to go. Fortunately I'm pretty familiar with the home to Disney World trip by now.

The wilderness Lodge is pretty darned impressive when you round the corner and it comes into view.

This trip was timed for cooler weather. Too bad there was a four day heat wave the four days we were there. It was ok except for the first night. I thought I was going to pass out and went back to the room early.

The first night we had dinner at the Grand Floridian Hotel. When we got off the monorail and walked on one boys said "This is too fancy!", the other said, "Whenever I come to a place like this I feel like I'm going to break something." Guess the Wilderness Lodge was the right choice for them! After dinner as we were walking out my mom said, "I'd like to stay here some time." I'm pretty sure I felt the jolt hit my my wallet.

Day 2 - Did Epcot, rode the new Nemo ride, saw Mickey etc. etc. Had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom. This place is a nightmare. I'm sure some folks love it but it's noisy, it's dark, there are periodic weird loud things going on, the food sucks and it costs a fortune. Thought the kids would like it. Silly me, they thought it was too loud too. It did provide some unintentional humour though. Before dinner, while we were waiting for a table (OMG we waited for a table to eat in this place!) one of the boys was in the gift shop (of course there is a gift shop) and saw this stuffed monkey that for whatever reason caught his fancy. Later, as we were at the table (remember, it's really loud) just as my mother was asking what everyone was having he said to his own mother (not having heard his grandmother) and said "I want the stuffed Monkey." My poor mother is looking all over the menu and finally said, "Stuffed monkey? They have stuffed monkey? I don't see that on here anywhere!" Needless to say she hasn't lived that one down yet.

This is the big dancing fountain at Epcot:

Day 3 - Perfect Magic Kingdom day. I even rode Dumbo. We waited in no lines and were back at the hotel for a break in the afternoon. But not until we had ridden Buzz Lightyear Spaceranger Spin. Which my mother took surprisingly seriously. Here she is with my sister in their spaceship. This was totally random, you don't pose for these ride photos:

The kids took themselves off for burgers and the grownups had a lovely dinner at Artist's Point, where we were suitably fawned over by the management (for no apparent reason) and had a meal a hundred times better than what we had the night before for half the price. Then we took the boat over to the MK for Spectro and Hallowishes.

Didn't have a tripod so this was the best I got.

A little shopping the next morning and we were on our way home.

Lovely pictures!! I wish I lived closer to be able to go to Disney World more often (although I guess Disneyland isn't that far from me -- it's just not the same).

When I was younger, both times my family went, we stayed at the Grand Floridian, but it was relatively new at the time, and I'm sure not nearly the cost that it is now.

And I totally feel you w/the Rainforest Cafe. We have one here in the MGM Grand, and I swear they bump the prices up by a couple of cents each week, or something, because between the two times I've been there, I think everything went up by at least $3. The rainstorm is cool the first time, and then it's like "STOP MAKING NOISES!!" Haha.

But all in all, I'm glad your trip was good :)

WOW what beautiful photos. I haven't been to Disney world in well, a looooong time. Personally I loverd the water fall pic, the lagoon in shadows, and the one of just the water spray, thought that was really cool looking.
Glad you had fun !

I love those pics of Wilderness Lodge. I have a couple of free nights that I won from our Disney rep and I couldn't decide if I wanted to go to Wilderness Lodge or Grand Floridian but these pics helped me make up my mind. Wilderness Lodge it is...:)

We loved it. Especially because there is nothing 'Florida' about it, so you really feel as though you're away somewhere. I do think we're going to the GF next December though (2007), it'll take me that long to get it paid off!

Ah! It looks like an awesome trip! I admit that I'm envious as Disney World is one of my fave places in the entire world. :) *sigh*

Hell, with a tripod I can't do this good. Your pictures are beautiful. I buy camers, great cameras, and all my pictures are crap.

I've stayed at the Wilderness Lodge before. I loved those canyon pools! So beautiful!

And the Grand Floridian is nice, but way out of our price range. I think we went to a character breakfast there once.

How was the Nemo ride? Haven't done that yet. And did you do Expedition Everest? My husband and son loved it. No way would I go on it! I did Rockin' Roller Coaster once, got a migraine, and swore off roller coasters!

Glad you had a nice time! Was this the weekend of the 21st? If so, did you see Three Dog Night at Epcot? They were there Thursday thru Saturday, appearing at the stage in front of the American Experience. We were supposed to go up to see them, but had to change plans since I was going to NYC the following weekend (this past Saturday the 28th) to see Suddenly Last Summer! Gale trumps Three Dog Night! LOL! BTW, I thought Gale was good, and the play was great. And he is soooooo tall and gorgeous!

Anyways, glad you had a great time at WDW!

Nemo was cute. It's just a little ride through but I liked it. Didn't go to AK and if I had I would not have ridden Everest! I did it once and was terrified and really didn't feel well once I got off the thing.
