It's hard to believe the fire was only a couple of weeks ago.

The cleaning step has been completed. The wallboard has been removed where needed and the clothes and curtains and stuff have all gone to be cleaned. Today a crew came to clean out all the air conditioning ducts and a senior adjustor came to measure the rooms that need to be repainted (it's amazing how much damage is done by the smoke.) Restoration begins soon. The insurance company (The Hartford) has been great. They've sent us two checks already and we will not ever see a bill for the repairs. That's all being taken care of.

Rather than show you ugly fire pictures my garden looks pretty these days and I went out and took some pictures yesterday:

This last one is an orange for those of you who have never seen one on a tree!

Your garden looks lovely, it is springtime in Australia and my garden is also looking it's best, our gardens look similar. I have standard roses, frangipanni's, hawaiian hibiscus flowers as big as side plates and beaut cottage annuals. It really is a release from the stress of work and uni to walk around the garden whatever age you are cheers Chris

Beautiful pictures... It's SO green there... That's one thing I miss most about living in PA -- along with the changing leaves... Everything here is just so... brown, lol.

Thanks for sharing! :)

Your yard is beautiful! It's still so green and vibrant there in Florida...I'm in Iowa and our leaves are just beginning to turn. I don't look forward to winter.

Wow. Great photos (phlox, petunias, hibiscus, oh my). I'm glad the cleaning process is going well.

I know you are excited about your vacation.

So pretty! I love living in a climate where there are flowers all year round and can pick fruits and veggies from the back yard. What is the berry-like thing? (second from last picture)

What is the berry-like thing?

It's Florida Holly. As you can see it's just covered with berries this year.

Pretty. For a moment I actually missed living down south, then I remembered the summers and the heat and the humidity and the feeling went away. LOL. Your garden is lovely. I wish I could import you for a few weeks. I know nothing about plants/flowers and my yard looks so barren.
