Cutting of course

Okay, I wanted Malan out but not like this. Yes, his dress was really bad and he deserved to be kicked off on that basis. Angela was just dreadful through the while thing. She totally under estimated Vincent and wrote him off before they even began. All she could see in her head was 'flake' 'bad designer' and clearly never really looked at the dress or gave it a chance. The thing was about collaboration and she totally failed. She literally opted out of the whole challenge. She should have gone home. I don't think Malan was all that great in the collaboration department either but at least he respected his partner.

As far as the dresses went I liked Uli's better than Kayne's but Kayne's was really beautiful and I think better as a pageant dress. It deserved to win and I was hoping it would win. Michael and Laura's dress was pretty and they worked well together but didn't Miss what-ever-her-name-was say specifically 'no white'? Or am I imagining that?

Another good episode.

I need a Tim icon.

I actually felt bad for Milan. Despite his previous behavior this episode showed him as a real human being with feelings.

They should have sent Angela home. Considering how crazy Vince appears to be, I am surprised she didn't crack him.

And yes I didn't get the color choice for Michael and Laura's dress. Miss USA said NO WHITE. I think Laura designed for herself. But the dress was gorgeous. No necessarily pageant but gorgeous.

No you're right she said no white, yet the one architect woman, did a white dress. Duh.
I thought Malan was rather "affected" in his mannerisms but it was sad when he was talking about his mother being so dismissive about his early attempt at designing. I didn't like Vinceet's dress at all but then he annoys me...I would have been happy for him to go home.
Addicting show eh?

I thought Malan's dress was ugly the moment it hit the runway. The garment was totally unflattering. I did respect the fact that he admitted that if between he and his teammate, he should go because he designed the dress and took no input from his partner.

I was glad Kayne's dress won on three counts...1) He truly designed a "pageant gown" and (2) He wanted it sooooo badly and (3) He worked well with his teammate. (Personally, I think he's a cutey. LOL)

Angela didn't deserve to stay on. She was a leech from the get-go when this theme was announced and she had a BAD attitude (which Vincent didn't help to squelch). Her only contributions were negative and I actually was annoyed whenever airtime was focused in her direction.

Yeah, Malan's was bad AND unfinished, but I still thought
Vincent's dress was a WTF?

However, Angela was a pain in the ass and a horrible team
player. I ADORED the way Kayne saw through her and picked
Robert instead.

I was watching with my mother and 9 year old niece and I said
to my mom, "Kayne and Robert -- talk about a pair of queens!"

And my niece pipes up, "But not as big a queen as Austin!"

We were laughing so hard it hurt! ( years old! That's my
girl!!!!

If you listen to Tim's podcast, it seems he thought Malan could fix the hemline issue and said, something like, dude that will be right in Garcia's eyeline. I love the implication of Nina's rep.

You can hear it! Just listen to it on your desktop computer. All you need is iTunes and that's free.

I don't even listen thru iTunes, you can listen to it straight from the bravo site.

I felt bad for Malan, particularly after his "departure" monologue. But yeah, his dress was awful, so... hm. I guess based on his work, he deserved it. The white dress was gorgous, but it was more a party dress than a pageant gown.

Angela needs to go home. Soon. She's an annoying bint and really needs to get out of there.

Do you know if they're doing Tim Gunn "after the show/behind the scenes" podcasts like they did last season? I've checked on iTunes and I'm only finding last season's.

Yes, they are doing the podcast, it's in the same group as last season's. If you update you should get the new ones.

I was glad Kayne won-- loved his dress.

I was sad to see Malan out as well b/c Laura also drove me crazy. Also, Malan looked like he would have been a way more interesting person-- I would have liked to have known more about him. Laura had too much of the Wendy vibe which makes her less interesting b/c that's already been done.

I was just the opposite Malan was actually starting to grow on me. I watched the repeat over the weekend and somehow his laugh struck me more as dorky than creepy. While his audition tape may have been arrogant he actually had been really nice to everyone. So I started seeing him more as putting on an act of bravado. The story about the sketches and his mom completely won me over.

Angela on the other hand became more and more annoying with re watching. The whole "My clothes are mistaken for YSL" while you stomp around in army boots and clown clothes was irritating. Her sucking up to Kayne while everyone sketched and her down right rude behavior with Vincent worked my last nerve. I wanted her to go, but I knew Malan's hem would be his undoing.

Oh and Maria Menudos just interviewed Malan on the TODAY show and she worked my last nerve. Not only did they replay the tearful exit, but she asked stupid questions about his mother saying he was awful and did that cross his mind when he lost.

You are also right about Laura & Michael's dress. It was pretty, but
A.) It was ordinary, that's not going to get her noticed on the pageant floor.
B.) It was white. She said no while & requested earth tones, How about a golden color which would have set those sparkles off?

One last think. I officially hate Keith and Jeffrey is running a close second. Keith's snarky comment about, didn't you see my last dress, I'm good or it was beautiful was unnecessary and Jeffrey remark about Kayne's decision to us that purple iridescent color made me what to kick him in the head.

While his audition tape may have been arrogant he actually had been really nice to everyone.

He did have a weird combination of superiority and kindness going on. I suspect had he stuck around longer I'd have grown to like him more. No getting around a dress with an unfinished hem though and one breast larger than the other. I still wish Angela had gone though. As far as I can see she didn't even participate in the challenge.

Oh, and on what planet would anyone mistake whatever that was she had hanging behind her as YSL? She couldn't even pronounce it much less make something that looked like it.

If you get a chance check out the Bravo site & bonus videos. Nothing I would consider spoilerish just stuff like them coming back to those unfinish aprtments, longer interviews with each designer, etc....I found them very intersting. There's about 3 designers I really don't like so far and Angela is definitely one of them.

OMG you shuld see her website. It's just loads of her crappy clown clothes and some faux J.Peterman meets e.e. cummings wrtiing. Angela's website.
FYI there's nothing spoilery on it.

I agree completely about Malan's leaving. I really felt like if someone should have gone it should've been Angela because she totally stabbed her partner in the back. At least Malan took responsibility for himself and didn't leave his partner hanging in the wind. Ugh.

Michael and Laura's dress was pretty and they worked well together but didn't Miss what-ever-her-name-was say specifically 'no white'? Or am I imagining that?

Yes, she did! What were they thinking?

I've got a Santino icon that I've been meaning to upload for when I talk about Project Runway. I got it off the project runway community. It says, "Lighten up, it's only Fashion!" Hee!

apparently the dress was a nude color, but on screen appeared white.

I thought the Laura/Michael pairing was really interesting
amd, although that's not where the melodrama was this week,
I wanted to see more of how they worked together -- Park Avenue
Crazy WASP Rich Mom and HipHop Booty Fashion Dude. Except that
Michael looked like he was wearing a preppy type sweater and
looked more like a college professor than Mistah Gangsta! And
the dress WAS very elegant.

I thought the Laura/Michael pairing was really interestingSomeone else also pointed out that Laura's sketch had spaghetti straps, so maybe the new neckline was Michael's suggestion.
