It's been a bit hectic in real life land recently.

The other night my dad fell in the middle of the night. I'm not sure if he got up and tripped or if he actually fell out of bed. In any case it was very scary. My mom had to come get me to help him because he couldn't get up and she couldn't get him up. So that was a no sleep night. Took the next day off work. Also, he's having an MRI this week as they Dr. thinks he may have had a mild stroke. Scary stuff.

Meanwhile I have either added a new and fun allergy to the mix or really ramped up my latex allergy. No one seems to be sure which. I have to make an appointment with the allergist for tests. In the meanwhile I have this lovely sea of welts down my arms and sides. So lovely. Doc. prescribed Prednisone. No way. I am not taking it. I'm not that uncomfortable. That stuff makes you fat and nasty and I am already fat and nasty enough thank you very much. Okay, maybe chubby and nasty. But, my shiny new health insurance is a wonderful thing and it only cost me $15 to go have it checked out.

In happier news I am loving my new video editing assignment at work! OMG, it's so fantastic to be able to be creative and to have quite a bit of leeway in which to do it. It's also very possible that I could be working with video of a certain tall dark and sexy man. Keeping my fingers crossed. Also, my new dual processor machine rocks. It's is blazingly fast and you can practically hear an engine purring under the hood. I'm in love with it and everyone else at work is v.v. jealous. Oh, and I was the top seller last month. Which probably isn't anything to brag about since I'm not, y'know, a sales person. Not sure exactly how that happened. Either I managed to talk a whole lot of tech support folks into upgrading or I just happened to grab the phone a lot when people were calling in wanting to buy some new service. Either way I get the commisions.

So, speaking of tech support folks, I had a guy call me today because his phone and his internet didn't work. These two things probably aren't related to each other since his internet has nothing to do with his phone lines. So I tackle internet first, because I know internet and computers. Phone, not so much but I can get by or pass it along. I have him reboot his computer and he's on. Since that took so much skill I moved on to his phone. I asked him to move the phone ( he only has one) to another phone jack, just in case it's a dead jack. I hear this guy fumbling around then he says, "Oh, nevermind, I see the problem, it's not plugged in." Easiest troubleshooting the history of ever.

Let's see, what else has been going on in my little world...oh, my sister got a new house. Guess I'll be helping with moving. August 1st is really a poor choice of moving day for people who live in FL I must say. Anticipate whining. I've been taking some scrapbooking classes. I love it. Getting out of the house, away from the computer and playing with paper and glue and stickers. It's like regressing to grammar school. I highly recommend it.

I've got two disney trips coming up. One is October and one in December. October was supposed to be one night, just for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party. But we decided to add a day. And just now I added a third day. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm one of those people who very rarely takes a day off or calls out but boy do I count the days to vacation and when I'm gone, I'm gone. I don't even think about work. I wonder how Gus would feel about Halloween at WDW? hmm....

Good thoughts to you and your Dad. I hope the results of his tests come out okay. *Hugs*

Glad to hear that work is going well AND that you're planning some lovely & fun vacations. BTW--I would imagine that Gus would LOVE Halloween at WDW!

I've heard Halloween at WDW is wonderful. SO please post some photos after you've made the trip, would love to see them!
Some year I am going to make it for that. My usual trek was to New Orleans for Halloween, wonderful magical place for that holiday. But sadly with the tragic destruction of last year it won't be the same for many years I imagine.

We're taking our 4 year old daughter there for Halloween this year! She's all about some princesses and I can't wait to see Maleficent on Halloween.

Sorry to hear about your dad's difficulties, I hope the outcome is good :-)

I hope your father will be alright. And that your arms get better. It makes me itchy just thinking about it.

I've heard that the latex allergy is pretty wicked. It's been so hot lately that it is no wonder everyone is breaking out in rashes!

I bet Halloween (and Christmas) at Disney is awesome.

I hope your Dad is ok. Let us know how the tests go.

Wow - that's a lot of RL. Sorry to hear about your dad. That is scary stuff. I'm currently trying to talk my parents to move from the desert into LA so I can keep a closer eye on them. What happened to you is one of my fears. My mother can barely walk - let alone pick my father up off the floor. ::sending good karma::

Cool about all the work stuff. I got a new computer too and it's a dream. I actually hugged it today. :)

And yes - health insurance rocks. I think my insurance hates me as I use it frequently and the new "problem' of carpal tunnel I'm sure is not going to be a small bill - FOR THEM!!!!!

I hope your Dad's tests turn out okay.

Glad you are enjoying your job. It sounds like fun. As does the scrapbook class. I've been thinking of taking a pottery class. Playdough for grown ups. LOL.

Halloween at WDW sounds like a blast.

As for the latex allergy, that can get really nasty. Tell all your healthcare providers REPEATED that you have a latex allergy. As a healthcare provider, I cannot tell you enough how important that is. Don't every assume since you told them once that they will remember.

Hope things work out with your dad.

Can I just say how nice it is to hear someone who likes their job! I know you worked hard to get there, so congratulations!

Gus @ WDW would be nice if we could get a looksee ; )

Have you ever noticed how those health scare things always happen in the middle of the night? It's great, because not only are you stressing about your loved ones, you're doing it with no sleep!
