How do I get rid of that horrible navigation thing that LJ has slapped on top of my LJ???

If you go to http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/ then all you have to do is go down to where it says "navigation strip display options" and uncheck the 2 boxes and that will get rid of the navigation bar.

The navigation bar is actually pretty handy! It fucks up custom layouts though.

I like the navigation bar/strip, but I thought you had to opt in for it. I just wish it came with a custom color choice option to help it blend in with your layouts.

When I went to turn it off there were two choices. Not enough to make much difference. I'll bet before long there will be more customizing options. I just didn't like the amount of real estate it was taking up and I can get to what I need easily enough without it.
