Any Pirate of The Carribean fans? Or Johnny Depp fans for that matter?

Disneyland and Disney World have both been re-vamping the Pirates of the Carribean Ride over the last three or four months to include Capt. Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbossa and some other stuff from the films. This is a video that shows Johnny Depp on the new ride and also checking out his audio animatronic figure. It's a great little video.

I got my DVDs of Season 1 Slings and Arrows yesterday! I love this show. Season Three is starting soon in Canada but I haven't heard about when it's going to start here. Anyone know?

I talked to my borther last night. He had taken tons of great photographs recently and sent me some. He was disappointed because one of them had come out blurry. I told him to send it to me and I'd fix it. So he did and while we were talking I fixed it and sent it back. He was surprised. He didn't know I knew how to do that. Which just seems really astonishing. Hundreds of people are aware that I know how to use PhotoShop but my brother isn't one of them.

I wish it was Friday. I like my job but for some reason I'm really tired this week.

@quinn: thanks for the link! i assume i found the video, and it's been fun to see johnny. (he still looks in jack-mode, hee) the jack puppets really seem amazing even with the bad quality of the video, i can only imagine what it feels like standing next to them (especially for johnny *lol* "more than a little spooky", eh?)

i think i checked the url with yours and up to the three dots in yours they matched up, so i'd guess that's the vid. looking at it again it's actually not bad quality for a youtube vid at all, i guess i have just seen too many dvds in the last time. there probably aren't too many different clips of johnny at the ride around, did a search for "johnny depp disney" and it's the only one of the ride that came up. alas, doesn't matter that much anyways. :)

Thank you to you and quinn! That was a wonderful piece and seeing Johnny Depp right next to Captain Jack was creepy. The quality of that audioanimatronic was incredible!

I saw the red carpet event on E! and it's a frigtening likeness! (And made me want to rush back to Disney!)

Completely OT here, but I have to ask for my curiosity's sake!

You mention in Changes that Brian and Justin bought wedding rings, with the intent of wearing them if they could ever legally marry. I am curious to know what rings you had in mind. Or have they not been shown, because they may come up in the future? *crosses fingers*

Oh man, that's awesome re: the blurry pic. I've got two blurry pics of Bikini Bird that I don't know how to fix. Do you think I might send them to you? If it's a fast fix that is. Also one that is dark but I can't figure out how to lighten it realistically. *hopes*

WOW that is one of the coolest things I have seen. When Johnny is watching himself and asks can he touch the *fake* Jack. THANKS so much for sending this out, I hadn't heard anything about it. Hopefulyl heading to FL in Nov so hopefully get to include this for a day trip to Disney!

I just watched the video and I *loved* it. I am slightly inclined to agree with one commentator on youtube though - one 'hidden' Jack might have been enough, whereas so many may be Disney going 'overboard'on the hype.

Anyway, we're spending two weeks at WDW in August (Florida heat and humidity vs. Irish grey skies and pouring rain - no contest!)so I'll be able to see for myself soon :-)

This is the california version of the ride which is nearly twice as long as the FL version. I'll be interested to see how many are in that one.

I was talking to my Disney rep today and she told me that when he goes to the Magic Kingdom, he likes to be left alone. He doesn't do the whole celeb backstage "stay away from me, you peon" bit, he likes to just walk around with his kids in their strollers, hanging out and doing the rides. She said he hasn't been there very recently as he's doing the PR thing for POTC but when he's there, he goes for the grungy look so if you think you see someone who looks like Johnny Depp, it just might be...LOL

Oh and btw, according to her, the celeb who really likes doing the whole "stay away from me, peon" bit is Mariah Carey. She went over to MGM on her day off to ride Tower of Terror and got told it was closed due to technical difficulties. Turns out, Mariah was doing the backstage thing that day and wanted it closed so she could ride it when she felt like it and not have be bothered by normal people or be looked at or talked to. William F Shatner and Reege are other very "popular" people with the cast members too...*g*, especially Reege.
