I can't be the only person on my flist with this probelm so I'm hoping one of you has some info for me.

I am allergic to latex. This means that I cannot use standard bandaids. Last time I needed them I bought a box of latex free ones of each size I needed at Amazon. Needless to say when only one person in the house is using them they last a long time. I'm getting low though so I went to order them again. Now Amazon only offers them in bulk. I really don't need 600 of each size and can't afford that anyway. I found another place on line but to buy two boxes of bandaids I have to spend $11 on the bandaids and $10 on the shipping. I know that's only $21 bucks and I need these things. But it seems outrageous to me. Does anyone know of a source where I might find these things at a reasonable price in a reasonable quantity?

ETA: Thanks!

I have a friend in your predicament. She contacted our local pharmacy and they ordered them for her. Have you tried that route? Our pharmacy is one of the privately owned ones--not a CVS or other major chain so they still care about serving their clientele.

I only have chains here, but they might do it. I did find one kind on Amazon by 3M that were labeled latex free. Since I have Amazon prime I can get those with free shipping. That should hold me over for a little while and maybe I can locate another, hopefully local, source.

I've found that if you find a particular pharmacist that you develop a working relationship with, they'll bend over backwards to help. When my son (neurologically impaired) was young, he was in diapers until 5 1/2. We needed to order special large sized ones until they started being mass-produced for big kids with bed-wetting problems.

The pharmacist would order cases just for me because he had gotten to know us by being loyal and continual customers. I bet the same will happen if you consistently visit with the same 1 or 2 pharmacists in your chain store. Good luck in the future.

I order things from Medichest: http://www.medichest.com/

They seem to have pretty much everything.

I don't know how you feel about shopping about Walmart, or if you have one near you, but that is where I get mine. I am lucky cuz my tattooist has the same problem and when she orders her gloves she also puts in a order for bandaids and other stuff that is latex free so sometimes I can get some from her.

Can't you go on the Bandaid website also? or some latex-free websites?

Good luck!!

The pharmacies at chain stores can order them for you. I would pick one where you typically order prescriptions.

I bought mine in my local supermarket --

Top Care, which is a generic brand, but it says
"Latex Free" on the box and there's been no
problem.

You might check a medical supply store, too.

Sorry my computer has been *sick* and just now working again. I don't know if you found a suitable alternative for your latex freee gloves...but if not. I am a vet tech, working in veterinary hospital. We get latex free all the time. I can get you box of 100...I'll check price tomorrow but probably less than the pharmacy direct.
Let me know if still in need!
