With all the chaos my computer created yesterday I didn't have a chance to post about my Friday.

At work:
We laughed. A lot.
A new person whom I really like a lot was interviewed for my department and hired. Second one fitting that description this week. This means that A: More people I Like at work and B: When trianed, less work for me!
I opened a savings account and the lady at the bank talked to me about investments. Which means I may actually have enough money soon to invest.
The reason I opened a savings account is that a bunch of us at work are talking about going on a cruise to Hawaii together in three years. This might sound like just talk but we really like each other at work and a bunch of people are going on vacation together this fall to Las Vegas.
We had Quiznos for lunch
The company has season tickets to Mets spring training and I got four tickets to the game that I wanted.
I won a gift certificate to BeniHana. Not my favourite place but I never win anything so it's all good.

Then I came home and some of my family was there for dinner, which was fun. Then my dad wanted to discuss something with me. He is semi retired (as you may know) but still works a lot. He is an engineer. He's supposed to be a consultant but for the most part he is on retainer to one company and, in fact, has a title with that company. They build things. Big things. All over the world. Many of these things are in New York however. He has been asked if he would be willing to spend the spring and summer in Manhattan overseeing a Very Large Project. They understand that this could be stressful for him and if he will do it they will make it as easy as possible. Including putting him up in a two bedroom suite and covering all expenses (of course) including his family spending time with him. That would, of course, be where I come in. He wanted to know if I would be willing to travel frequently to New York with my mother and alone.

Um. Yeah. I'm there. New York. Luxury hotel suite. All expenses paid. Meals on an expense account. I think I could do that. I sure hope he agrees to do this!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!

What a great RL post--Friday was definitely your day. :D

That NYC project *ponders as brain has significant ideas*. I hope your dad takes the offer, health permitting. If you come to NYC, you must post in advance so those of us within range can welcome you. ♥

Well, a day of days! How nice that you have people that you enjoy at work; it does make work so much more fun.

And, it's a great thing that your dad is still getting offers even while semi-retired. That must make him feel very good.

If he agrees to do it, you have to tell us about your travels!

I don't know if you were considering the Vegas trip or not, but it's totally possible to do fairly inexpensively, with certain airlines, and at certain times of the week (although not so much if it's a weekend).

But if you, or anyone from work is interested in a magazine they distribute at a lot of places around here with lists of shows/restaurants/bars/clubs/current happenings/etc, let me know, and I'd be happy to send you one. :)
