Do you ever sit down to read Changes (or any of my other fics for that matter) and think to yourself, WTF? Where did that come from? If so I'm not at all surprised. The thing is that when I sit down to write I very rarely have any idea what I'm going to do. Or even who is going to be the one writing that day's entry. I read over what's come before and then just start writing. I had one today come from so far out of left field that when I finished it it made me laugh. Not because it's funny (though I suppose an argument might be made for a bit of humour) but because it surprised me.

I probably should plan ahead more but I've found they come out stilted that way and not with the immediacy that a real letter or diary entry would have.

Also, yesterday [livejournal.com profile] entr0ki started reading Correspondence and commenting on it. It's been so long that it was like a trip down memory lane. I have no compunction in saying that Correspondence is my favoured child. I think the letters just work better than the diary entries. She must have read all day. The last comment was on Adventures last night. Talk about endurance.
