I think that was the best part about the walk. I wasn't very impressed with the way NBC was showing things. At least they couldn't do anything about the music playing. ;D

NBC has the worst coverage ever. They jump from one thing to another so you never see anything. They never show anything live because they save it all for prime time. Half the time you know who won two days before they get around to showing you the competition. And they never show much of the good sports. They stick with the big ticket items so you don't get to see a lot of the intresting ones like bobsled and luge and stuff.
I hear that a lot of american's that live near the canadian border watch the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp) coverage. SO much better than NBC. Just one of the many reasons I'm glad I'm Canadian =)
I love the fact that they show skeleton too, those people are nuts. But it's fun to watch.
You have to wonder how drunk the inventor of that sport was though...there had to be chemical assistance to make someone thing that going down a luge run head first was a fun idea.=)
Ric Birch, who directed the whole thing, is another Russell Mulcahy. In fact, they would have almost certainly worked together in their dark pasts. Don't imagine for one second they weren't aware how gay that music was, either. Ric was probably homesick for Mardi Gras, which starts this week.
Ya know, I thought maybe it was just me. I was watching the athletes begin their march...partner snoozing on the couch, and I start really hearing the music. I said outloud to myself, "It's true, my partner's accusation that I see the 'gay' in everything is true. Now even the olympics have huge gay undertones. Glad to see I'm not completely wrong on this one.
