Just a reminder that I'm going away this weekend. I'm not sure if I'll post tomorrow or not. The next new post after that will probably be Wednesday but it might be Tuesday if I can get my act together.
I love Emmett! What a great moment of his voice. I noticed that he likes pictures of doorways -- if you call them gateways, you could even include the picture of the Statue of Liberty! The picture of Brian and Michael is so nice and chummy. I'm also glad to hear about Drew; he's leaving football in the best possible terms. YAY!
Sweet Emmett. It must be bittersweet helping his friends all move up and away into their new NYC lives. I hope he'll follow along soon. Maybe after his exposure with the Kinnetik party he'll get enough business to move on, especially since Drew won't be tied to the Pitts.
I wish the Ironmen were playing in the Superbowl. I'm hosting a Superbowl party and am not a particular fan of either team. I guess the Steelers are okay.
Have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy yourself and I look forward to your posting when you return. :D
It's scaffolding. Whenever construction work or repair/maintenance is being done on the outside of a building where pedestrians could be at risk for falling debris, the construction crew puts up wood and metal canopies as a barrier between the work being done and the street below. At any given time, a significant number of Manhattan sidewalks are covered by scaffolds.
After 7 hours of work, I just nearly killed myself trying to move my desk into its place.
Then... do you ever go to set up your computer, and realize just how many cords it has? Mine has like, 1,000 things I have to hook up to it. And every cord needs to go behind the desk and through the hole.
Then I put my computer into the cabinet part and realized that because of certain stuff sticking out of the back, it doesn't fit!! Ahhrg. I think I might take off the door... but yet, the whole point of putting the computer in there was to cut down on some of the noise, and a partially closed door does that better than a nonexistent one. [/rambling]
I hurt all over.
Here's hoping your desk activity goes a little more smoothly than mine did!!
I can't, because the whole back of the desk is one solid wood piece. But it's ok, because the thing sticking out is the connector and adapter for my monitor, which is like 5 years old. Eventually I am going to get a new monitor, and I suspect that I will no longer have that problem when I do.
Have a great time at Disney! We were also supposed to go for the new coaster preview, but between a bad sinus infection and too much to do this weekend, we decided to go in February.

Too bad you can't go this weekend, I hope everyone is feeling better so you can go next month.
I'm absurdly pleased that Emmet used the proper "commenting" instead of the incredibly annoying (and wrong) "commentating" to describe Drew's search for an on-air job.
Wonderful as always! I'm a long-time lurker, but infrequent comment-leaver. :)
.... on mispronunciations and plain ol' wrong words. Another *favorite* grrrr... is "orientated" rather than oriented. (though I will admit, and hang my head while I do so, a southern fondness for "conversate." lol
I prolly missed it but which neighbourhood is Ted's place?
It's in TriBeCa on Laight St., right across from where Brian and Justin are renting. It's right on the Hudson. If you look to the far left you see the statue there in the distance.

I'm a Giants fan myself. I probably won't even watch the game.

Me, too. I used to go to the games when I was younger and didn't care about freezing as I watched. LOL

Have a great trip! :D

I used to date a stock broker. OMG, boring. The job, not the man. The man had a whole other set of issues!

What's with all the metal pole thingies? ...I guess I don't understand city things.

It's scaffolding. They're still doing work on the building.
I started on the desk tonight. I'm figuring a couple more night's work to finish it.

Oh no. Can you take the back off that part maybe?

I'm with you, 'commentating' is annoying. Thanks for coming out of lurkerdom :-)

And GO Ironmen! Hehe. I'm such a Steelers/Pittsburgh girl... so I guess I should be rooting for them too ;)

Thanks, It's going to be exhausting but I'm really looking foward to it.
