Through Justin's POV I found this scenario very bittersweet. It was tender to note the support given Brian, by his friends, in just the right way.

I love the pic of the guys drinking--except for Ted.

The perfect depiction of a Joanie Kinney incident, as told by Justin.

I LOVE the manip. Drunk Em and Brian are fantastic, lol... and I like Emmett being able to sort of help Brian with the mother situation, since I don't feel like nearly enough was done with their friendship during the series.

I could not believe this when I read it; I have a WIP using this precise scenario, right down to the fact that Brian gives Joanie money! The only difference is I have Gus visiting. . . .

Since it sort of happened in canon I've read a lot of fics with a similar scenario. I guess everyone writes their own take on it.

Since it sort of happened in canon. .. It did? Other than the ep in S2 where Joanie comes over and Brian is there (the Viagra incident), I guess I don't know to what you are referring. In fact, I don't recall any scene b/t just Justin and Joanie. I love to get links to all or even some of the fics "with a similar scenario" though! Thx.

I think you're forgetting the scene in Season 4 where Joanie found out about Brian's cancer and came to see him at Kinnetik. And she did basically say that God gave Brian cancer because he's gay.

I've always thought of it as semi canon too. I try and work as much canon in as I can to try and walk the fine line between Canon and totally AU.
