I decided to the fifty books thing. I doubt I'll ever post there but of course I'll post here and make myself even more of an irritant to my flist than I already am.

My first book turned out to be an oddly perfect choice, though I had no idea it would be when I bought it.

1. Julie & Julia by Julie Powell

Julie Powell cooked her way through Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Julia Child in one year. 365 days, 524 recipes. I like to cook, I like non-fiction, it seemed like a book I'd enjoy and I did. But what I didn'tknow was that the day she decided to do this Julie Powell started a Blog. The entire project was accompanied by a blog and her writing about blogging through a very long project and readers comments etc. certainly struck a cord with me!

Anyway I liked the book a lot. She's funny and unpretentious and willing to share plently of stuff most of us would never admit to.

Since I don't want to totally spam you all I'd also like to share some visual evidence of why my co-workers were named as my favourite new frends in my New Years Meme:

How can you not love a job where a straight man will dance on your desk and have a dollar tucked into his jeans by another straight man? Yes, that is my desk at work BTW.
