Changes: Author's Note

I have a small issue with Changes that probably needs to be addressed:


I know everyone loves the Gus manips. I have Gus spending time with Brian and Justin. I should have manips. However, in my story Gus is just seven years old. All the pics I have of the Hoover boys they are three, four at the most. I can't get more pictures of them and even if I could they aren't seven yet. I have very few pictures of Gus and the ones I do have are the same ones all of you have. I just have next to nothing to work with.

My options are to do no manips of Gus, very few manips of Gus, use the same pictures of him over and over again and ignore the fact that he is years too young, or recast some other kid as Gus. I haven't decided what to do yet.

I would be comfortable with you using the same pics you have since the body manips will take care of size/height. If they look really stupid you can try to find another kid who looks very similar to the Hoover twins, but that might be too complicated.

Hmmm, having watched just how much my two boys have changed over the years, I'd say that you could safely re-cast Gus without any problem.

Yes, a difficult dilemma, I totally sympathise. My vote would be to recast, but any manips are gratefully received! Perhaps only back/distant viewpoints?

Seeing as I really like the Gus manips, I'd vote for a recast so we can have loads of pics with Gus and our boys. But obviously we'd be happy with anything you choose to do! :)

If we can go through a half dozen different Gus' on the show before they settled on the twins, then you can re-cast as well.

Quinn, I have been enjoying your work for a long time now and just wanted to say how much I admire it. Your talent is amazing! Your work is beautiful, honest, and tremendously inventive. Thank you so much for sharing your special gifts with us.

use the same ones, we can use our imaginations. I also like when use use stock photos where you don't see tha face, like the one with Gus sleeping on the sfa with Justin.

Just thought, isn't there a website where you can see what you looked like as a child or see what your child will look like when as an adult. Could you "age" the Hoover twins faces using this and?

Quinn: Whatever way you choose to address this will be just fine with me (and all of us, I'm sure). We would certainly easily believe any chestnut-haired, fair skinned, little guy you tell us is Gus, is indeed Gus. Can't tell you how glad I am to have stumbled across Adventures several months ago and then to find there was even more of your creative work. I totally believe this world you've created and appreciate it and the time you spend creating it so very much.
