Good morning. It's cookie baking day today at my house. My mother and my sister and I will be getting together to produce as many cookies as possible. I don't know what my mom has planned for hers but it involves white chocolate and dried cherries. I'm thinking I should probably taste test those. I've got four loaves of bread rising and I hope to get four more going at some point during the cookie making process. I'll have twelve people for Christmas week and four of them are teenaged boys. I'm figuring at least 3 loaves of bread per day.

Despite my worries I did, indeed, finish my Christmas shopping. There's one more thing I'd like to get but it's not critical so if I get it fine, if not, that's fine too.

Also, I'm on call today. Hope everyone behaves themselves.

Brian is such a good, caring partner without sounding mushy! I, also, think he couldn't deal with Thanksgiving and family without Justin by his side.

I've been to NYC for the parade many times--it passes in front of my MIL's apartment building on Central Park West and I remember several times that the balloons were either a no-show or limited due to wind. Those things are immense!

Have fun baking and if you are so inclined to give out cookies recipes I'd love to get a couple of good ones. :D

Have you ever tried peanut butter fudge before? I know that your birthday is coming up this week so what would you like? Every morning when I wake up I love reading these stories because no matter how cold it is outside these stories always warm my heart. Brian sooo loves Justin and the holidays prove it and so do all the other times.

That's such a sweet thing to say *hugs*

As far as peanut butter fudge, no I haven't tried it. Peanuts and I are not the best of friends I'm afraid. I used to have a great recipe for chocolate fudge (it used the mini marshmallows instead of the marshmallow creme) but I lost it and I love fudge. If you make a chocolate one I'd love that recipe.

Maybe I can talk my grandma into making chocolate fudge too and I'll write down all the things that she uses. Although she starts out using a lot of sugar...lol.

You can never have too much sugar ;-)

I am a candy maker, so this is the fudge recipe that works best for me-
One can of Sweetened cond. milk,
One cup of semi- sweet choc. chips
one cup of milk choc. chips
one cup of either Butterscotch, peanut butter, mint, or any other kind of chips you like
after this is all melted over a warm heat, keep stiring til it sort of thick and has a nice shine to it, have to watch not to burn.
When you get ready to turn it out into the waxed paper pan- or sheet if you are cutting it up before you hand it out-- You add in some 1 cup of nuts (if you want to) and then turn out and cool in fridge.

I ususally do the choc. chips with cherrys and walnuts. or the White choc. (just use the white choc. chips) with cherries!!!

Best part - when you cut them up in small squares, then take some choc. almond bark (candy making stuff) and dip the squares in the choc. to cover them!!! yumm yummm...

now if we could just get Justin to dip Brian in fudge and choc.... hummm...

I'm loving these! I generally don't comment because I usually read surreptiously from work and am always clicking it closed really fast in case someone comes up behind me. Just wanted to let you know that I'm reading and loving!

I could smell the wonderful aromas of your home through the computer!

Brian's exasperation on holidays is great. It really is awful when different people want you in different places at the same time. It's like Brian and Justin have a large number of "in-laws".

Gus in New York. His beautiful big eyes are going to be open very wide.

"Cookies with white chocolate and dried cherries" is the most beautiful mental image ever. *envies* *and drools a little*

Love the post, as always.

I know you always start your posts with 'Good Morning' - but I am way behind you here in Ireland so I just want to say - Good Evening!

I am thoroughly enjoying all these missives, and am delighted to see Brian as such a caring partner. He is adorable when he gets into his protective mode, be it with Justin or Gus - or any of his family, for that matter.

It sounds like you will have a marvellous Christmas, and you deserve it :-)

I love Brian trying to navigate who he and Justin will be with during the holidays.

I'm still deciding what I'm doing for my Christmas cookies this year and trying to remember which drawer I put the decorating stuff in.

Really, Brian and Justin EXPECTED to make an appearance at Muncherland?
Must be for Gus.
Osmosis.. never works when you want it to.

Christ, couldnt you just see Justin arriving at the airport of chopper? Im sure everyone around would think someone important has arrived and poor Justin will jsut flush.
HA. Although I doubt he would even take the offer.

OMG how I love this entry. "I'm not sure if she's afraid I will be or I won't be" HA! Jennifer is still intimidated by Brian I love it. "If they do strike will you please just take a helicopter to the airport?" ROTF he says it like just pick up some milk at the store. Brian is living like Mr. Trump coptering all over the place. WOw can't tell you how much i LOVE this entry.

My aunt made these no bake cookies last year with coconut and marachino cherries, they are amazing.

I hope Brian is keeping an eye on the later flights, so he isn't stuck at the airport all day after Justin misses his ;-)

I walk to work so the whole strike thing only effects me in the sense of what time I will have to arrive at work. I can just imagine Brian sending a helicopter for Justin, I doubt he would find the idea of Justin sharing a carpool with four other complete strangers appealing.

I cracked up at the thanksgiving mix up-invitations, poor Brian having to deal with all those family threats. LOL

What a great entry! I love Brian's remarks about Telson, and I love your continuity by throwing him in here. "Just take a helicopter" -- oh Brian. LOL
