I decided to do the Holiday Wish List thing.

STEP ONE
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered... whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Harry icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.
STEP TWO
- Surf around your friends list (or friend's friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free -- do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not -- it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
My Wishlist
1. A donation to The Destination Foundation.
2. A donation to your local PBS station.
3. A postcard from your country
4. A photograph of the town or city that you live in.
5. An Amazon gift certificate
6. Fluffy socks
7. Due South DVDs
8. pretty much anything momastore.org sells
9. A Brian/Emmett fic
10. A nice schmoopy Brian/Justin Christmas in NY fic
11. A gapfiller fic for any one of the episodes from Correspondence, Adventures, Interlude or Changes.

I'd be glad to do this, but I'm from Canada, so it's not really that exotic.
Me too, especially Seasons 3 and 4. (Oh how I love you Callum Keith Rennie!) I can't find them anywhere, which is odd, considering I'm Canadian. The have to be around somewhere though. Amazon must have them.

It doesn't have to be exotic, it's The Motherland! All may dad's family and a good portion of my mother's are from Canada. I'm Canadian-American :-)

If you want postcards, let me know. I can get some from Ontario and Quebec.(I go to school in Montreal, but my family lives in Southwestern Ontario.)

My dad's family are all from Québec. All over Québec. They first went there from France about 500 years ago. My mother's family are from Cape Breton, mostly around Mabou. She had a g-grandmother from Halifax also.

Well, it isn't exactly a monetary donation, but I volunteer to man the phones for their on-air fundraising shows.

That's probably worth more than money to them, good for you!

Also, I might be able to grant some of your wishes. We shall see. ;)

I love this idea. I might even attempt it, since I love the two of them together so much. The only B/E fic I ever read that I really enjoyed was by Deanna Z, where the two of them have a little fun in the pantry and Mel and Lindz's place, and get flour all over them. Em tells Justin the story while they sit on the couch, sipping cider. :) That was years ago, though.
