I decided to do the Holiday Wish List thing.

copied and pasted from [livejournal.com profile] twistinside82

STEP ONE

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered... whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Harry icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.

STEP TWO

- Surf around your friends list (or friend's friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free -- do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not -- it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

My Wishlist

1. A donation to The Destination Foundation.

2. A donation to your local PBS station.

3. A postcard from your country

4. A photograph of the town or city that you live in.

5. An Amazon gift certificate

6. Fluffy socks

7. Due South DVDs

8. pretty much anything momastore.org sells

9. A Brian/Emmett fic

10. A nice schmoopy Brian/Justin Christmas in NY fic

11. A gapfiller fic for any one of the episodes from Correspondence, Adventures, Interlude or Changes.

3. A postcard from your country

I'd be glad to do this, but I'm from Canada, so it's not really that exotic.

7. Due South DVDs

Me too, especially Seasons 3 and 4. (Oh how I love you Callum Keith Rennie!) I can't find them anywhere, which is odd, considering I'm Canadian. The have to be around somewhere though. Amazon must have them.

It doesn't have to be exotic, it's The Motherland! All may dad's family and a good portion of my mother's are from Canada. I'm Canadian-American :-)

Wow, you could be more Canadian than me! What part of Canada did they come from?

If you want postcards, let me know. I can get some from Ontario and Quebec.(I go to school in Montreal, but my family lives in Southwestern Ontario.)

My dad's family are all from Québec. All over Québec. They first went there from France about 500 years ago. My mother's family are from Cape Breton, mostly around Mabou. She had a g-grandmother from Halifax also.

2. A donation to your local PBS station.

Well, it isn't exactly a monetary donation, but I volunteer to man the phones for their on-air fundraising shows.

That's probably worth more than money to them, good for you!

Getting caught up on LJ and now the only thing I haven't yet caught up on is Changes. Will do that ASAP so expect a flood of comments from me in your inbox. :D

Also, I might be able to grant some of your wishes. We shall see. ;)

9. A Brian/Emmett fic

I love this idea. I might even attempt it, since I love the two of them together so much. The only B/E fic I ever read that I really enjoyed was by Deanna Z, where the two of them have a little fun in the pantry and Mel and Lindz's place, and get flour all over them. Em tells Justin the story while they sit on the couch, sipping cider. :) That was years ago, though.

Since I have no creative writing skills to speak of, fics are off the list but I would like to do my part in keeping you happy (and thus writing/creating etc). I am a decade long (oh god, I' m getting old!) supporter of PBS (KCTS in the northwest) despite being from across the border so there goes #2. I would love to send you a postcard from my beautiful town. Not exotic, I'm from Canada, but its home and I love it. I can't send you the smell, but this is what makes it home to me - a rich dry pine forest sap smell that I wish I could bottle to keep with me through the winter. But alas, that won't be happening soon, so if you send me your address, I'll mail you either a postcard and/or picture. I'll even try to make it a classy postcard, not one of those abominobly cheesy things that come out of tourist shops.

I am addicted to Changes, by the way!

Holiday cheers and warm fuzzies from the cold hinterland,
Jacquie
