I so want this!

No? It's a bubble.

I just read a fascinating article about the ten years of research and science that went into making it possible to make a coloured bubble. Something pretty much every scientist thought was not possible.

They're called Zubbles and will be out in loads of colours in the spring and I have reverted to age 5 and want some!

Colored bubbles? Hmmm... looks like I'm gonna be seeing a lot of them in the park this summer. Looks cool.

That's so pretty! I looked at it and thought it was a special type of glass or crystal.

pretty, yes.
but.. ten years of research and science that went into making it possible to make a coloured bubble

was that necessary? ten years.. on bubbles.
I wonder if these bubbles save lives?
huh.

It started out as for Bubbles but as the Popular Science points out the chemistry involved in this ended up creating something so revolutionary that the side note that it was discovered as a toy will become an interesting side note at future scientific conferences.

I want to play! I'm with you - I'm 5 again. Can I come to your house to play? I'll bring chalk. :P

I read about bubbles too. They said the dye is revolutionary, it's temporary, fades away and disapears in 20 min or so. The first dyes stained everything. They found washable ones, but it still made a big mess and you had to wash everything in sight.

Now they are looking into new products using the dye. Like hand soap...when you are dining at your favorite restaurant and an employee comes out of the washroom, won't you be happy to see that he has blue hands?

You could paint your bedroom or dye your hair just to see if you liked the color and it would be gone in half an hour. Toothpaste for kids.

I love the idea of these bubbles and I think there will be more cool things to come.

I think we read the same artcile, it's amazing how complex the whole process was isn't it?

I covet the zubble. Must have the zubble. Wonder, wonder, will they turn whatever they land on blue?

will they turn whatever they land on blue?

No, that was a big focus of the article, how they first figured out how to make a coloured bubble but then they had to make one that would not stain anything.
