Just got the official word that we are not working tomorrow. This is a good thing since no one in my department had any intention of showing up.

The house is totally shuttered, which makes it feel like a cave and somewhat claustrophobic. I've stocked up on books and a few magazines, I have munchies and batteries for my flashlight. iPod, PPC and Phone are on chargers. Chicken Cacciatore is simmering.

There is nothing else I can do at this point. I'm in a safe place so if I don't post tomorrow it's just because I don't have power.

To all my fellow floridians, be safe and check in when you can. We should all go to Disney or something after hurricane season, we need a break.

There's not too much we can do here either, just sitting and watching Wilma advance across the Gulf. I was supposed to be at Sanibel this weekend but something told me to hold off on booking it, no matter how great the price was for the week.

Stay safe and let us know you're ok when you can.

Oh and yeah, our resort decided not to open tomorrow so I'm off for the next two days. Good thing...LOL..can you see tours being conducted in the middle of all this?

OMG, for a second I thought you had typed "shattered" and I panicked!! Stay safe, Quinn, and check in when you can. Disney sounds good this time of year. :)

Just got a call from the school district (Palm Beach) that there's no school Monday or Tuesday, so looks like I'm not working Tuesday either! Luckily I work for my brother, so I can just say I'm not coming in. We'll be lucky to have power at our office anyway, since we lose it very easily.

Hope all my fellow Floridians ride this one out with no problems.

Stay safe, and Disney sounds great!

Just spoke with my Mom in Boca and she has all her storm panels in place. The only problem is she feels all claustrophobic when it's like this. Hopefully you'll be able to relax on your day off tomorrow and Wilma will downgrade.

Stay safe Quinn. I agree everyone should go to Disney and take a much deserved break.

From one resident of a storm weary resident to another, good luck!

And a small gift, in case you haven't seen it.

At the URL below, there is a small pic of Randy. It was taken at an Empire State Pride event. It is out comedienne Kate Clinton's site.

Quinn, sit tight and take care. I'm praying for you. My parents live on the East Coast in Palm Aire, I think they are safe from this one.

enough, already with this and with all the suffering, I'll tell ya. oy

Be safe!

I'm working on our third earthquake in 2 days. Mother Nature and Mother Earth can be mean sisters! Every region has their natural disasters but the hurricanes have been nonstop. Thankfully you sound very prepared.

Have you seen The Day After Tomorrow? I feel like we're living in the years right before the beginning of the movie. Scary thought.
