I'm in the minority here because I've hated Lindsay from the beginning.
She always acted more like Brian's partner than Mel's--the way she drooled over him and dropped not so unsubtle hints that she'd have married Brian in a heartbeat and more often than not siding with Brian against Mel.
Lindsay loudly proclaimed how much she admired Brian for his honesty but couldn't handle it when Mel was honest (like when said she couldn't handle Lindsay sleeping with a gu).
While I agree with Brian's stand on circumcision, I'm still horrified that Lindsay sided with Brian against Mel, her partner. She went from being OK with it to changing her mind just because Brian said so.
I went back and forth over the series run--admiring Mel for sticking with and fighting for the woman she loved despite Lindsay's attitude toward Brian and being disgusted with Mel for putting up with it and not leaving Lindsay for good in Season 1.
Mel and Lindsay's problem was not either woman's affairs. It's the fact that Lindsay is in love with Brian. If Cowlip had been honest, THAT would have been what Mel and Lindsay ultimatiely fought and split over.
But then I've always been a Mel defender. Brian was admired for being brutally honest and in your face while often being cruel while doing so. Mel was vilified for the same reasons. Seems like a double standard to me.
And Lindsay was rarely called on her actions and motivations--at least until the end.
Sorry for the vent, but this is a very sore point with me. As regulars here know. :)
BTW, love Interlude. I did a marathon rereading of both Correspondence and Adventures last weekend(I had planned to read one a day, and I started off that way, but I have no will power. lol), and enjoyed them just as much if not more, since having them all at once, it flowed even more like a story. I'd forgotten some of the Adventures stops and a lot of Correspondence(not surprising considering how many entries there are), so for some of the entries it was like reading them new.
I was all prepared to go back to rereading them a day at a time, but with Interlude I don't have to. You really spoil us--and I love you for it!
Feel free to vent any time. I can't stand either one of them to tell the truth. Which annoys me because both characters had so much potential but they were handled so badly right from the start I never got a chance to like them. Even worse, all the things you mentioned could have worked into a really interesting storyline throughout if only someone had bothered to write it.
Thanks for letting me know you re-read and enjoyed Correspondence and Adventures. It makes me happy to know people still read them, especially Correspondence which I'll admit is my favourite child ;-)
I haven't like Lindsay from the begining and she just really got on my nerves. I haven't seen season five yet--(any ideas on when the DVD will be coming out???) but I have a feeling I am really gonna like her even less after seeing it!
That's such a pretty font you used for Lindsay. I love the mention of Justin being Gus' daddy too. That was a very cute reminder from when he was traveling with them. I would love to learn more about the party everyone has been talking about. They must have all been so happy to see each other.

If only Lindsay had really behaved like this.

I couldn't agree more.

By the end of S5 I couldn't stand either one of them.
