Pardon me while I whine. But not too much as it all worked out okay.

We went out to dinner tonight. It was my turn to pick and I chose my favourite Mexican place. Turns out it's closed on Mondays in the summer. So we went in the opposite direction to a seafood place. I ordered a cup of clam chowder and a lobster roll. The soup was good, the Lobster roll came and it was shrimp. I love shrimp but I loathe shrimp salad. SO I did something I almost never do. I sent it back. Waitress brings Lobster roll. It was horrible. I think she had to know that the lobster salad was not up to snuff tonight because sshe instisted on taking it off the bill even though I hadn't asked her to. I let her, because it truly was inedible and the lobster could have been anything it was so doused in this slimy, awful tasting dressing.

My dinner cost about $2.50 and I was starving. Happily I had to drive by a Baskin Robbins to get home. So I had clam chowder and ice cream for dinner. Not so bad.

I'm using my daddy icon just because I feel like it.

Don't you hate it when stuff like that happens? I was at a restaurant about a week ago, we went there over an hour before we had to leave to go to a concert and despite being there for an hour, all we'd managed to get was our salads and even they were not really all that good. We ended up cancelling our order and walking out. I didn't end up getting dinner that night until after midnight. I'm kinda surprised I didn't keel over from low blood sugar.

That's awful. It's one thing if you really want a leisurely meal but if you tell them you have to be somewhere there just is no excuse for that.

There is nothing worse than bad food. Ugh! I'm so sorry to hear that you had to suffer through TWO terrible entrees.

It really was awful. And the sad thing is I turned down going to Applebees because I wanted to eat at a nicer place. I probably would have had a much better meal there. It may not be fancy but it's consistant.

I hope the person whose turn it is next to pick, brings you somewhere where there's edible food! Yuck, but yay for ice cream dinners!

I can understand the not sending things back deal but Im happy you were able to suck it up and do it. I never send things back and then Im in a sour mood for the next hour. Not enjoyable for my fellow dine-nees.
However, ice cream for dinner, doesnt really get much better than that!

That's my usual routine too. This was just not edible though.

I don't think I've ever heard of that combination for dinner, but who am I to talk about weird dinner's, lol.

It worked out surprisingly well. Though I was a little nauseous the next morning :/
