Been a while.
I used to work 3 ½ minutes from my house. Now my commute is twenty to thirty minutes, depending on weather and traffic. Still an easy commute but I have to make up some commute playlists. Before I never even bothered plugging in my PPC or iPod since I wasn’t driving long enough to even hear one song. Suggestions are welcome. I tend to like quieter stuff on the morning (often Classical) and louder stuff in the afternoon. I kind of like the longer commute. It gives me a chance to get in a working mood on the way thre and to wind down on the way home.
New job. I’m really enjoying it and learning a lot. It’s two more days a week and longer hours than BB but it’s no where near as exhausting. In fact, I think my feet are smaller after three weeks not standing all day on a concrete floor. I’ve been walking out of shoes that fit before. Speaking of fit it’s so nice to be able to wear pretty clothes to work and not a unisex uniform.
There was an eight foot alligator in the lake behind the office last week.
Screen saver- I wondered the other day why I don’t have a screen saver set up on my computer. So I set one up. Within a few minutes of it’s coming on Dandy was on my desk attacking my monitor to get to the flying ball (or whatever it was) on the screen. It all came back to me why I had turned it off. I tried to get him to leave it alone but he could not be dissuaded. So I set up the slide show screen saver to use Adventures as a screen saver. It looks nice. Why yes, I am an egomaniac, why do you ask?
I was happy that there wasn’t much on S5 that forced Correspondence or Adventures into AU territory, so they still ring believable to me. Which they have to if I’m going to be able to work on them. Speaking of Correspondence, it picked up a bunch of new readers from somewhere a few weeks ago and it was like visiting old friends to go back and see what they were commenting on. I like the emotion behind that one more than Adventures, just because that one was all interaction between the boys, which is much harder to do when they are together. This one is more of a travelogue.
Saw March of the Penguins Sunday. It was a beautifully made film but way too many dead penguins for me. There were traumatized children in the theatre.
The sequel to Eragon is finally coming out, yeah! There were two other books that I wanted to re-read (In the Beginning, by Chiam Potok and A Place To Come To, by Robert Penn Warren) but the bookstores only carry other books by those authors. Have to get them from Amazon. Oh and there was a New J.D. Robb out this week (A totally guilty pleasure), that was a nice surprise.
Guess that’s it for now. I have to have some breakfast and get ready for work.

I'm planning on seeing "March of the Penguins" on Saturday. A friend warned me that this is not a kiddie film, and as the natural world works, parts will NOT be pretty. I hope I'm prepared enough--penguins are sooooo cute.

I loved Correspondence, too! My favorite is the very first entry (who the fuck is Justin Taylor?) That just sent it off and running.
Not to say that Adventures is loved, too. It's just different!
Glad you are enjoying your job.
