Got a call from my new boss that I passed my background check and drug test, which was pretty much a done deal since I don't do drugs and I've never even had a traffic ticket, but it was nice to hear that everything is now official and that she is looking forward to seeing me on the 1st. Which means that I have just two more weeks at BB. Yeah! It really hasn't been a bad place to work because I've had good bosses but the whole retail thing.
The other night (when I was not working, thank God) a kid actually shit on the floor. The sales floor, not in the rest room. An eleven year old, not a baby. His mother thought it was funny when she came up to tell "SL" to clean it up. Probably she didn't think it was so funny when "SL" handed her cleaner and paper towels and told her "I don't get paid to clean up your kid's shit." I am so glad I'm getting out of retail. No customer will ever darken my door at the new job.
Also, My dad wanted to see where I am going to work so we went out there. I've never really driven around there, just gone to my building. I haven't given many details I know but The Job is located in a new community, a la Seaside (if you're familiar with that.) So we drove around and the little downtown area where our new building will be located is just adorable and there will be a Japanese restaurant and a Thai one as well as an ice cream parlour and some other shops. It's going to be nice. Those places are being finished now and should be open in the fall, when we move into the office space near the shops. I'm looking forward to it :-)

I believe this should have read:
No customer will ever darken my floor at the new job.
Heh, I crack myself up. :p
Anyways, congrats again on the new job!

There's a line in Parenthood that goes something like "They make you get a license to drive a car or have a dog but anyone can have a kid". How true and you end up with poop stories to share with your friends online.
