The new Janet Evanovich book came out today and I picked up my copy this afternoon. Now I have to resist reading it for a couple of days. I may need to drive my dad to Ft. Lauderdale for some meetings and I want to save it to read while he's figuring out how to build a bridge or whatever it is they're going to build.

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] paddies, are you still taking icon requests? Any chance of getting one of Brian reading to go with posts like this? Please?

ooh, thank you for reminding me it came out today! I love Joe/Steph, but from the description, I'm mad Joe is starting to be such an ass about the bounty hunter thing and making Steph try other careers. :( She needs to hook up with Ranger again.

Yeah, she really does. ;)

I don't think that's true. I read the first chapter on her web site and Stephanie quit and is trying jobs by her own choice. I don't know what happens later though, maybe Joe tries to get her to quit (or stay quit) later in the book.

he was starting to be assy about in the 10th book! That's why they sort-of kind-of semi-broke up, heh. He's never really been a fan of it anyway.

True, he's got that overly protective Italian thing going. Though given some of the things she gets herself into I can see where he gets it! I'd like to see her more with Ranger too though.

Mine should arrive today or tomorrow. I will try to resist it until the weekend. But it will be v.v. hard.

If you want another good book to read then try Nora Roberts because my grandma got hooked on her by accident while waiting for Janet to release some more books. My grandma says that trilogies are the best ones to read.

I think I've read almost all of hers. I like her mysteries better than her romances, especially the ones she writes as JD Robb. I liked the Irish Trilogies though and some of her other non-mystery ones too.

OMG!!! Now I know why we get along. I just love her books. I will confess I keep putting off reading "10" - there's been just too much going on and I keep forgetting about it. It's sitting right next to me - I could literally reach my arm over and it's RIGHT THERE. I shared a book-obsession with a friend and I introduced her to Janet E. and we would talk about the books at work and get so worked up with excitement and laughter.

I know what I'm doing this week-end. "Ten Big Ones"! I have catching up to do!

Have you read Sue Grafton? Her titles are the alphabet - A is for Alibi, etc. Her books are more serious - she's up to "O" or something. The last few I had a hard time staying up with the story line and lost interest. The first 10 or so were great - the first one was probably her best. You literally didn't know what was going on until the last paragraph - or at least she had me all spun in circles. If you haven't read hers give them a try.

I'm with you, I liked Sue Grafton at the beginning but then I got tired of her after a while. Faye Kellerman was the same. Her first several books were great but then they got bad.

Sure! Do you have some specific pic/scene in mind?
The only ones I clearly recall are the one when Brian is recovering after Justin's dad assaulted him, and the one when he talks with Michael about cancer (I think) from S4...Any other suggestions? ;-)

I can think of 3 more if it's not too late..

1) End of 215 (like I used on the fanfic site: http://oz-expression.nu/qaf/fanfic/)

2) End of Mikey's birthday when Brian's on the floor reading a comic

3) 304 when Brian's in the comic store with his nephew. It might be hard to get a good shot of this one though.

Oh I am so awful with the icon thing. Do I have to choose? I know I'll love anything you come up with.
