Spamming my LJ

I have satellite TV. When it rains, I lose the picture. I live in FL, it rains every day in the summer. In addition to the satellite I also have basic cable (don't ask, it's a long story.) So I just called to see what it would cost to switch to digital cable and get all the same channels I get on satellite. I can get every single channel there is (including premium channels), on four TVs for over $50 a month less than I'm paying now for every basic channel plus Showtime and Cinemax on two TVs. The guy is coming Tuesday to set it up. So now I wont have to have a panic attack every Sunday when it rains.

Rain fade does suck. My husband and I always called it that and didn't know it was a technical term until we were looking through my mom's satellite manual. But they still don't offer cable where I live so I don't have a choice. We also have Directway and luckily rain has no effect on that. jule

yay, that's great! :D we had satellite tv in germany (and i suppose we'll have it again), so i totally feel with you there. i remember having panic attacks when we had a sudden rain (or worse: snow & hail) attack during my favorite shows. no fun. during my stay here in the U.S. i totally learned to appreciate digital cable! it's something verra nice, although i don't suppose you'd have many trouble with satellite here, since it hardly ever rains in arizona... too bad my hostfamily doesn't have showtime, so i'll never get into the pleasure of actually watching qaf on tv. :(

You are really lucky--I have satellite too, but cable here costs almost double to have the same channels that I have now!
