That sex scene between Connor and Justin (which was hot BTW.) I wonder if it was intentionally cut with the Brian/Michael conversation in such a way that it was left up to the viewers to decide if it actually happened or if it was something Brian was picturing in his head?

I'm not sure what the intent of the intercutting of the scenes was, but I think that Justin's subsequent conversation with Connor ( package, special effect, "I didn't hear you complaining") shows that it really did happen.

When Connor says "I didn't hear you complaining", I'm pretty sure he was talking about a time in the recent past - if not in real time as Brian spoke -- and not the time they fucked when Justin first went out to L.A. HOWEVER, it is possible that the sex scene itself is Brian's envisioning of how Justin and Connor were/are while fucking, rather than what has really happened when they have really fucked. So it is possible Justin did not bottom for Connor, although not probable, since I think Connor wanted to become Rage (method acting) and Rage is most definitely a Top. Does that make sense? 'cause I'm confusing myself! :)

The whole time watching Justin and Connor, I couldn't help but think, "why the hell is Justin bottoming for Connor? He's only supposed to do that for Brian!!" And thats what made me think it was all in Brian's mind, cuz thats what he would picture. Regardless, hot sex. But hotter B/J sex :)

Why is Justin only supposed to bottom for Brian? They have an open relationship. Brian is a top, and he tops anyone he wants to. Justin is a bottom, there is no reason Justin shouldn't be able to bottom for anyone the hell he chooses. The idea that Justin should save his ass for Brian only is ridiculous and unfair until Brian starts saving his cock for Justin only.

Sorry, I didn't realize you were joking. What you said as a joke is an attitude I've seen expressed by a lot of people who were quite serious about it. There is a lot of fic out there where the writer seems adamant that Justin is really a top who only turns into a bottom in the presence of Brian's magic cock, or that it's okay for Justin to have sex with half of Pittsburgh, as long as he reserves his ass for Brian. I was very happy to have visual proof that people who write stuff like that don't know what they're talking about. It's an attitude that is just so at odds with the Justin I've been seeing. The Justin who, at the age of 17, told his mother that he wants to get fucked by dick; who told a Hollywood producer that getting his ass fucked was a pleasure and a privilege. Justin may not be a *total* bottom, but bottoming is definitely his preference.

I briefly wondered that too. And also, for some strange reason, it felt as though I was have deja vu. It looked like they were in the loft in Brian's bed (or maybe I'm just crazy) and the actual sex brought forth images of the past, though I can't exactly put my finger on it.

It almost seemed like Brian was replacing himself with Connor. Knowing that Connor and Justin had a previous sexual encounter and conjuring up that image to backup his theory on why Justin wouldn't be returning.

I watched the episode again and feel that Brian conjured up the image in his head. The minute I saw the scene, I knew it looked just like the one Justin conjured up when he went back to the loft in episode 301, and ran out due to all the old memories.

We know that Connor and Justin slept together when Justin first went to LA. I think this is the encounter Connor is referring to in episode 502.

That was exactly how I saw it. It reminded me of the season from season one where Justin's father was in his room and Justin and Brian were at the loft having sex. It was interesting.

I have to say I actually liked they way they did that scene, I think they did it to show that maybe Brian's insecurities about what Justin was doing there really weren't too far off base. Some think it was just a figment of Brian's imagination his worries, but I don't, I think that Justin was with Connor then. But with the editing, it's easy to think that he wasn't until what Connor said later about Justin not complaining (because I don't think that was about the first time he was in CA and they were together)

I liked the way they shot it, too. I think that it is very open to interpretation. Personally, while I do think Justin had a fuck-buddy thing going with Connor (and that he did fuck him more than once and was the bottom), I think that the scene was Brian's imaginings because of the way it was shot with the setting being essentially a copy of Brian's loft (I don't actually believe that Connor James' place would look so much like Brian's, and it wasn't the movie set), and some of the moves being very similar to things we've seen between Justin and Brian's sex scenes in the past. As someone noted above, it was kind of parrallel to the scenes Justin saw when he left the loft for Ethan.

Not that I think Brian would be jealous, necessarily, not if it were just sex, but as someone else phrased it, that it would be yet another reason Justin wouldn't return.

So, while I'm not saying Connor and Justin weren't fucking often, I do think that was actually Brian's imagning of their encounters. Although, I'm not dogmatic about my position and could be persuaded otherwise.
