Thank you all for you kind thoughts and prayers. My mother is doing much better this morning. Sitting up and her colour is good. They still aren't sure what happened though I think they've ruled out an actual heart attack. They're undecided if it was an angina attack or something to do with her stomach. She had major tummy surgery summer before last. I don't know how long they are going to keep her but I wouldn't be surprised if they let her go tomorrow with orders for tests as an outpatient.

I'm a nurse on a cardiac telemetry floor and I often see people come in with chest pain, come to find out it's gastrointestinal in nature. Of course after a series of tests - stress test, CT's, Xray's, etc - a cardiac issue is ruled out. Unfortunately, the patients have to endure all this with a weight of fear on their shoulders. I'm glad to hear your mother is better and it isn't cardiac in nature.

Glad to hear your Mum is feeling better Quinn. I also back up the previous post as nurses we do our best to elevate the fear and distress experienced by patients and families when confronted by the unknown.Hopefully everything will settle down now, Cheers Chris

This all sounds very similar to what my mom went through about five years ago. They actually never did find out what caused it, though they also ruled out anything cardiac-related. I'll keep you and your mom in my thoughts today.
