I have a very long Word document. It is a tutorial in using 3D modeling software so it has a lot of illustrations. My problem is they don't show up on my screen. I can only see them if I print this thing, which I don't want to do. I've tried regular view and print view without any luck. Does anyone know how I can get the images to show up on my screen? I don't use Word a lot but I don't remember having this problem before. Or if I did I didn't notice it.

No idea why this is happening, but you can try saving it as an html file and then open it in the browser or an html editor. See if it works.

Does this HAVE to be in Word? If not maybe try to open it in another program. Usually Excel can read the same document. But if you're on a PC vs. Mac it may not let you do this unless you copy and paste it over but then you have to play with the formatting - bad PCs!. Mac's are much more cooperative when trying to "fool" something into working. If you can't figure it out email it to me and I'll play with it - no promises but I'll try. I'm pretty good at wrestling things into cooperation.

Viewing as a web page didn't work. I saved it as a web page and that didn't work either. But then I opened it in a browser and that did work :-)

Also, usually if you double click on the image it will open it in a little paint-like editing box. It can be annoying, because you can only do one image at a time, but it should work. If viewing it as a webpage doesn't work, you could always try converting it to a PDF and seeing if that does the trick.

I may try the pdf thing anyway, they're easier to view than a web page when you're tyring to follow a long document.
