Last night's company party was a lot of fun, mostly because we're still small and we like each other. Also, free food and drink.

Today I stopped on the way to work to swap out my cable box for a DVR. I have a Tivo but I wanted a DVR in the bedroom. Because I am lazy and there is often cigarette smoke in my living room so I can't sit there.

In less fun news the office next to ours is being finished. They started using some kind of adhesive which I suspect was latex based, given that I started wheezing and coughing and my face turned red. I was out of there like a shot. Okay, maybe that wasn't so awful since I'm okay now and stared my long weekend an hour early. But it wasn't fun. Then I got home all anxious to see my new camera, which DHL tracking said had been delivered. Only it wasn't. At least not to my house. So now neither DHL nor myself have any idea where my camera is :-(

But the DVR seems to be working :-)

I was really looking forward to using my new camera this weekend. That will not be happening.

timeline:
2:30pm - DHL reports package delivered
4:30pm - I arrive home and discover it has not been delivered. Call DHL. DHL lady says she will locate driver and find out where it is.
5:45pm - DHL lady calls back and says she can't reach driver but they will try and deliver it on Monday. I tell her this is not acceptable (especially since I have a pretty good idea where the moron left it.) She tells me she will get with driver and call me back.
6:30pm - I contact Dell and tell them the item has been lost and DHL is being less than helpful. They contact DHL and tell me someone from DHL will call me within the hour.
8:30pm - I contact DHL again. Am told they are closed until Monday. They closed at seven. I report that I reported the problem at 4:30. DHL man confirms this and says he can't say why they didn't send the driver back for it but there is nothing that can be done now.
8:40pm - cries. (well, not really but I felt like it.)

This might not be so frustrating but this is the third Dell order in a row that DHL has delivered to the wrong house. FedEx, UPS, the USPS have no trouble finding my house. I have no idea why DHL is so cluless.
