I called a friend this afternoon to ask her a quick question. I hadn't spoken to her in a couple of weeks but that's not unusual, we're both busy. When she answered the phone she sounded awful. Turns out she had had a heart attack labor day weekend! They put in stents and then she got a clot. I about had a heart attack myself when she told me. Not only had she not told me when it happened, she didn't tell anyone else either! She's been in the hospital until yesterday.

This person is someone who we've often joked is my 'second mother.' I told her if she ever did something like that again I'd kill her myself. She promised to put me at the top of her 'please call at once' list.

I'm still shaken.
