Comfort me with Apples was okay. Kind of whiny and given that a lot of it was about the break up of her marriage (mostly because no one seemed to care enough to want to save it) I didn't enjoy this one all that much.
Garlic and saphires was better. It's about her time as a critic for the New York Times. Again though she just doesn't seem like a person I'd like very much. Maybe this is coloured by the fact that when she took over as the editor for Gourmet magazine I felt as though the magazine took a sharp trip downhill and cancelled my subscription. Or it could be because she has no compunction pointing out her own character flaws. The only thing is that Julie Powell did the same in Julie and Julia and it endeared me to her. This is not to say that I didn't enjoy the book, I did. But I could have enjoyed it more.
Also, this is the first weekend since Christmas that I haven't been on call! Yeah! Brokeback Mountain finally is showing near me and I'm going to go see it either today or tomorrow.
